16-8 with five to play, three of those games at home. After all is said and done, this team could still get to 20 wins. That would be a pretty big accomplishment IMO for a team that lost its best player. Could they be better? Sure. But they're battling. That's all I want to see.

We're still 2nd in the MAC and the only MAC team to have beaten Akron this year. The win against Akron came AFTER we lost the returning MAC POTY to injury.

Complaining about this team is as moronic as complaining about winning bowl games after a century of nothing.

The 2 or 3 seed gives us a bye AND puts us on the other side of the bracket from Akron. The 4 seed wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'd rather not see Akron until the final. Beyond a seeding/bye, every regular season game remaining is another chance for this team to develop more chemistry post-TC.

I don't see 20 wins. I would be pleased with a 3-2 finish to end up 11-7 in the league. That should get us to a second seed. We really need to take care of business with Miami, Buffs and BG at home. The Buffs game is going to be tough and perhaps we can steal one at Kent or Miami. I feel like we have trouble at Kent though. All winnable games but to go 4-1 would be a stretch.

That being said, this team has persevered. Take Big Dog out of Akron. Take Maric off Northern. Take Thompson off of Eastern...etc. None of those teams do what we've done. It speaks to the depth that Saul has built. And it will only get better next year as all 3 kids look like they could be ready to play in his system. Some big bodies and a slasher. To think that we could have a small lineup with Darty, Simmons, Butler, Laster and Carter? Teams wouldn't know who to guard!

Getting to 20 wins before the end of the regular season will be tough, but then there will be the MAC tournament and then probably some kind of tournament after that. It seems fairly likely.

Ohio is up a game on the Ball State in the #4 spot (with the head-to-head tiebreaker), which would put the Bobcats on the opposite half of the bracket as Akron. Ohio also is up 2 games on the multiple teams tied for fifth at 6-7, so barring a terrible finish, the Bobcats should at least earn a first-round bye.

It was nice to see two hard earned victories on the road. The Eastern win was especially satisfying for me as I felt like it was a little redemption for losing at home and losing Campbell. I had high hopes for a amazing season before things tipped off this year. Given the injury to Tony etc. I think they are still going to finish with a postseason appearance in one of the mid-major post season events that could get them to 20 wins.

3-2 in the remaining 5 is my prediction. As we have seen, the team can win or lose to anyone in the conference.

Calling for wins at home against BG, Miami and Buffalo.

I think we will catch Miami in Oxford on a day where they can't miss and the Cats aren't hitting shots. The MAC in Kent has been a house of horrors historically and I see another loss there.

Buffalo is really gaining a head up steam right now. They have won 5 straight and while it wasn't against murderer's row exactly they did sweep Central and return to Western New York to play 4 of their 5 final games at home. Momentum and chemistry is huge in college basketball, especially in late February heading into March. A win at home against them could have major seeding benefits.

+1 from the guy starting a thread and arguing for days that we should bring back John Groce if he becomes available.

Comical.

Agreed. The two seed, as it stands today, plays the winner of EMU/NIU in Cleveland on Thursday. The three seed plays the winner of BG/WMU. Getting that 2nd seed makes it likely that Ohio avoids UB & Central until Friday night, assuming they get there.

Winning all the home games should sew up the 2 or 3 seed. Or, beating Miami twice, and BG once should as well. Getting 4 of 5 would be really nice, but it's not what I'd expect to see.

The nice thing is we're done with the West. The West may be a sad lot, but we were only 4-4 against them, including 1-3 at home. We're 4-1 vs the East and 2-0 at home. The only road loss was at Akron, right after Tony went down. Given that the road games are Fiami and Kent, I wouldn't be surprised to see us win out.

Of course, now that I've said that....

Are you actually Russ, predicting wins a little early? ;)

Considering they just went 3-1 over the last 4 games, including a win against Akron and back-to-back road wins against Balls and EMU, 4-1 the rest of the way doesn't sound all that unachievable. Buffalo will definitely be the toughest game.

The other game that worries me is the next one against BG. They will be looking for revenge. The Cats are riding high right now after a successful road trip, and BG always gives them problems.

However, this team keeps getting better game after game. Everyone is stepping up and contributing. I honestly think the sky is the limit for this team.

Only way to surpass Monroe in daily number of post. Sad thing is Monroe has much better quality of post.

Here is my stupid comment of the day: I would love to see us finish 4-1 with the sole lose against Buffalo.
My logic is that it seems really hard to sweep a team in this league and I would much rather defeat Buffalo up in Cleveland.

Despite a handful of games this team should have won the team seems to take care of business when they have too in conference play.

My prediction is we finish 3-2 with the second or third seed.

We're 5-2 on the road, 1 loss being @ Akron right after the Campbell injury and the other being that time we had a 12 point lead with 8 to go. That is incredible.

But.....we've offset much of that success with 3 home losses, 2 of which were very upsetting.

At this point, with this team...who knows. It's too bad pickem isn't going this year because I'm certain Ohio would have an extremely low correct percentage this year.
