those oops posted earlier were average oops, especially Ellis. With his jumping ability, you have to throw it down with power. Taylor almost got hung, he was barely over the rim.

THere was no allusion that they were anything but what they were. I found oops that were available on twitter and sought to present them to folks who might not know they were there and promote Ohio Bobcat TV in the same moment.... In an effort to help people find info you make this into "they're not that good" discussion. Why? ....... I find myself posting less and less here and devoting more time to other places because it is just silly to post here for these reasons.

The OP asked why we are so bad at them. I do not think we are Nor do I think his assertion of having the "'lowest % of them in the history of all college programs" is anywhere near the truth or anywhere near accurate. Seems like you are looking for a reason to criticize either the effort of the kids or the content presented here. Those folks talking to me about "not wanting to post because...." seem to be correct in their assumption that someone is going to pick their post apart. Congrats...with that kind of effort you successfully keep this community from getting larger and more involved in supporting OUr Cats.

I was attempting to differentiate between being able to dunk via alley-oop and doing it often and with panache. RSBobcat has a more inclusive list than me. I just listed the dudes who stood out to me.

it just gets crazy when someone tells the truth. We can't judge how good the alley oops are because people just take it so personal. Alley oops don't win games.

it was not the oops and no one minds the truth. While the time honored tradition here of digressing in a thread is generally accepted you were critical of the post and the oops posted here for viewing pleasure and enjoyment. Not taking anything personal just pointing out that those type of posts keep folks in the shadows. Personally, I like all the Bobs out there contributing and chiming in...

You will find no one more supportive here of the fact that the 3 ball, not ooops wins games ...but I still like watching the ballet in the air and communication between teamies

I did not mean to offend anyone. I was talking about style points, because someone said how good that the oops were. The discussion, I thought was fun, I got to see Diante's highlight tape again. I will be more cautious.

You are really trying to up your numbers on Ryan's list at this point. At first I thought it was just a coincidence, now I'm certain of it.

I believe I am 50 short. When I hit that milestone I promise to say things that are only pleasing to you. Most of my post are about how good we can be. I love Ohio sports and I love talking about it. I will not be dismayed by groupthink and mediocrity. The reverse psychology won't work, nice try though. 49 till paydirt

Maybe if we called alley-oops layups (or some version of lay up) coaches will design plays for it more. I know EMU is really tall but I think their zone is susceptible to alley-oops.... But, I am no xs and os guy either...

Of course, as soon as we run a play and miss I will forget about the above and complain about it on here for sure....

By the way the all-time Bobcat alley-oop has to be Geno Ford off the glass to a trailing Gary Trent. With Devaughn against Georgetown a photo-finish runner up. No? Or does Devaugh win due to the publicity that one received?

No. The Ford/Trent was maybe the most epic I have ever seen - any league

Cal topped Utah last night on a near-buzzer beating oop.

And we can't disagree with your opinion presented as "truth" without you taking it personally. Maybe you should stop referring to your opinion as a truth. You presented an opinion and people disagreed. I really don't see the harm in that. That's what this forum is for.
