In the words of a great Rebel Alliance tactician: "It's a trap!"

The Bobcats have lost 4 in a row to Bowling Green, and discounting the Jim Christian years, Ohio's last win in Wood County is 2007.

Yes, four Falcons will miss the game and they account for 91 minutes and 31 points per game. But they're not irreplaceable.

Wes Alcegaire will play. He leads the team in 3s attempted and made. Dylan Frye will play. He shoots 42% from outside the arc. Demajeo Wiggins will play. He's their leading rebounder, including over 3 offensive boards per game.

Coaches Huger and Stacey have a history of dominating their home court against Ohio and 400 Nate Thurmond bobbleheads are not going to go down without a fight.

You think this is going to be easy? You got another thing coming.

BG has pulled two football players to try and help tomorrow. I repeat, two guys who have never ever played a college basketball game have been pulled in to try and salvage some sort of a team. This is gonna be a cakewalk.

This is a guaranteed win. BG was already without 2 or 3 guys due to injury, now they have lost 4 more guys, 3 of which were starters. They are roadkill at this point.
If you've ever been to a game at BG you wouldn't have said this. It doesn't matter how good we are or how down they are. It's like Ohio's twilight zone for some reason.

EDIT: I understand all of the things you say point to Ohio victory, and I hope you're right. But history shows that it really doesn't matter who is better.

That said we'll be there pulling for the Cats hoping for the cakewalk :)

Larry Hunter used walk-on football players in 89-90. Went 12-16.

In Southeast Ohio, nothing is given.

Only 400 Thurmond bobbleheads? I'm on a mission to get one. More ammo to ensure that I get there when the gates open at 300.

I remember when the Beefs of Buffalo filled out their roster with some.football players who actually got a lot of playing time in the Convo. One of em got body slammed by Shawn Mc.

Tunji was from one of Solich's teams, right?

And in the opposite direction, I can see Tony C doing just as well in FB as BB. He's got the hands for certain.

IIRC Dakich did the same thing when he was coaching. I would still not label it a cakewalk....but then I am always wary of being overconfident...lots of FB guys were pretty good BB players...and they are not afraid of contact

Disagree. Your ever optimistic posts fall flat often. Wish I shared your enthusiasm but the game is played on the court and just as we are short handed so is BG. Do you know Thomas Stephens?

From the BG forum "I just read that two football players, Redding and Folkertsma, practiced with the basketball team today. This has become beyond comical. God forbid one of these guys gets injured trying to help fill in for this extreme mess of a basketball team right now. SMH....wow. "
Yeah I want to know how the "4 players suspended " thread devolved to a food thread.....I thought *WE* got off topic.....ah well I am sure someone here could suggest a wine pairing if they chose to. http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t...

This is an away game. The Bobcats have had difficulty in most away games this season. This is against Bowling Green. The Bobcats have historically had difficulty playing against Bowling Green, both away and at home. OHIO will probably jump out to a big double digit lead in the first half (again), and then have an offensive collapse (again) in the second half. Then, the question will be whether they pull together to win in the end. I am glad the game is being televised, and I really hope I am wrong. It is time for a blowout in an away game, and this game presents a good opportunity, if the right Bobcat team shows up for 40 minutes.

Tunji walked on to the Football team, but I think he stopped before he walked on to the Basketball team. We did use WR Robert Mercer in 2006-2007, but I don't think he ever played in a game.

Damn this is awesome! I went to bed way too early last night. I enjoyed this over my morning coffee! Thank you for the analysis FJM! I’m sure really good squads would meet with the same fate in that clown school of a campus.

Sadly, we don't (historically) do much on the road. As we all know - that's life on the road in the Mid-American Conference :)

I mean how do you stop a dude raking 3 offenive boards per contest? You can't.

Chet Feldman was on the roster for both basketball and football in 1994 or 1995. Not an enforcer, but did play both sports.
