Flashes on a bit of a roll going into this one, winning their last three and five out of seven. Four of those five wins came on the road. This will be their third game in a row facing the top tier of the league (Akron, Buffalo, Ohio).

If Ohio was to lose one in these last few games and I'm almost automatically inclined to pick this one, but Kent State hasn't played that well at home this year. They've lost to Wright State, NIU, Buffalo, CMU and BG at home. I like the Bobcats chances a lot more now than I did a couple weeks ago.

I may be attending. It's been a few years since I've been to the MAC center. Isn't it mostly festival style seating? Also does that annoying lady that screeches still attend the games?

Yes, and yes. Despite the bleachers, I don't really mind the MAC Center. I could do without the howling, but it's hard to get too angry at a mentally handicapped woman who's really into MAC sports.

THinking of popping in as well. Kenpom has a 51% chance of winning a 1 point game. Maybe we can bring em some good mojo. I have never been there without a foot of snow on the ground.

I'll be there +1. NE Ohio weather for you, 70 today snow tomorrow. Supposed to get some early Saturday afternoon, but it will hopefully clear up (although stay in the 30s) by game time.

The forecast I see calls for flurries while it's above freezing, then little or no precipitation when it dips below freezing. Should be just fine for getting in and out of Kent.

I'll be at Bar 185 with my wife and a Flash fan pregame.

I can see the Cats winning comfortably just as easily as I can see a no show and bad loss.

I've been really impressed with their strong play as of late but that usually makes me nervous that an egg will soon be laid. Take care of business Cats!

Also, on a side note, the Cats got some nice coverage and kudos on this week's Gametime Ohio on Spectrum Sports.

Any decent sports book has so many screens that you can certainly find one that's airing it. It may be small, but it'll be there. Go to a casino with a bigger sports book to guarantee a decent viewing position. I like Caesar's, Aria, MGM and Mandalay for sports, but there are plenty of options. I "made" a nice sum on five of six MAC games out there earlier this year... and gave most back at the tables. I'll always have a fond memory of watching Marcus Keene torch Kent State live (on a wee screen) at the Aria. The underdog Chips paid well.

We are staying at the Mirage. The sportsbook, even empty, is impressive.

I might follow your lead and just participate in gaming for MAC games...and stay away from the slots!

If we can hit the three, we should be ok. Ohio leads the MAC in both 3pt shooting and 3pt defense. Kent doesn't shoot threes well, but they're third in 3pt D. In beating Akron and Buffalo, Kent held them under 25% from behind the arc. Let's hope Kaminski finds the range again.

BTW, Kent is looking for a three-peat in breaking streaks. In back-to-back games they busted Akron's lengthy home winning streak and Buffalo's six-game winning streak.

When this season started I had some pretty high expectations for this team. I thought with TC and Simmons, some growth from Dartis and the rest of the guys, a couple new freshmen and another year in the SaulBall system and we had the chance to go from a "good" team to possibly a "special" team with national presence.

Then the season started....and I was severely disappointed. I saw a team that didn't look much improved from last year at all - and was extremely frustrating on a game by game basis. We were still a good MAC team, but not special.

Then Big Tone got hurt...and we were in trouble. We went from a good MAC team, to hoping to be a 500 MAC team. The thought of another lost season (minus a hope and a prayer in Cleveland) began to emerge.

Now over the last few weeks we've seen Simmons start to flat out take over games. We've seen Jason Carter blossom into a top scoring/rebounding option and solidify his starting spot as a Freshman. We've seen Darty be Darty, and we've seen Mike Laster emerge from obscurity into a solid to spectacular 6th man (who has scored double figures in 4 straight games!). We've adjusted to playing without Tone, and proven we can win games as a team with different guys stepping up.

All that to say, I have a lot more confidence in this team now than I did 2-3 weeks ago - but even good teams struggle on the road in Kent.

I fully expect this to be a tough road loss for the 'Cats.

Then again, if we can somehow go on the road and pull this one out for our 5th straight win overall (and 4th straight MAC road win) - with 2 home games remaining before the tournament - that would go a LONG way in not only our seeding and confidence, but proving that we still CAN be that "special" team once we get to Cleveland in March.

When Tony got hurt i was more than a little concerned about the rest of the season. The fellas have really exceeded my expectations.

I look for Kenny to bounce back this afternoon offensively. Carter has become a force. Laster has made the leap to consistent contributor. And what else could i possibly say about Jaaron you havent heard before?

Is this game on Athens Time Warner? What is BSCN?

Found it 1311 and 311 in Athens. With Spectrum now many of the letters are different.

I'm guessing based on this blackout map, you have to have one of those cable channels to watch in Central ohio.

A win tonight locks up the two seed. BSU lost today and is 9-7 with Buffalo and WMU. We have all the tiebreakers over the others, either straight up or because we beat Akron and they didn't. Go get em Cats!

I'm not up on how all of this works but why would you have a blackout in the markets that would be most interested in watching this game?
