Any idea why we get Fiami twice in the last four games? We play WMU, EMU, Akron and BG twice before we our first game vs Fiami, which is part of playing four of the next five on the road.

The MAC hasn't changed the schedule in a few years, they seemingly just flip games home and away for the most part. That's why I always shake my head at how long the conference takes to release the schedule. Individual schools, based on last minute contracts between OOC opponents I get.

When I first glanced at this thread, I thought it was about Monroe redoing our schedule. ;-)

Shouldn't we be happy that two of our last four are against Miami? But I get what you are saying.

The MAC starting doing this two or three years ago. Each team plays their rival twice in the last five or six games. I guess the thinking was that they want the biggest games to played later in the season to create excitement.

I can see how a possibly 6-8 team playing a likely 2-12 team twice in ten days would get the fans juiced. MAC genius. Like playing rivalry football games during weeknights in Nov or on Black Friday.

I preferred it when they did intra-division first round first, all crossovers in the middle, then round 2 intra-division after that. That's a lot easier to do under the 16 game schedule though.
