Just curious about how optimistic or pessimistic BAers are about the upcoming postseason. It'll be interesting to look back and see how accurate or inaccurate we were in hindsight.

Ohio is a lock to at least make a CIT/CBI game so to have us end the season in the MAC tourney simply isn't going to happen. NIT isn't going to happen either without us winning the regular season MAC title. I give the chances of an NCAA berth to be slightly higher than either the CIT or CBI individually so my pick is the NCAA's.

What about the Vegas tournament? Are they not doing it again?

It didn't show up as an alternative when I did a web search. Anyone know for sure?

Nothing recent, but found this at the end of last years tournament that they were planning on having it again. The Vegas 16 web site and twitter dont make mention of it though.

I wouldn't say NIT is completely out of the question. Ohio would have to win out regular season and then lose in the MAC title game. If that happened I'm thinking a matchup with Ohio State could happen. That would be fun. Ohio State is a train wreck right now.

I gotta agree with Uncle Wes-under your scenario Ohio would be 23-9 (assuming Ohio wins 2 put of 3 in the MAC tourney) and I don't know if a 23-9 record gets Ohio into the NIT. But hey, maybe. And Ohio would destroy Ohio State right now!

It would probably come down to regular season conference champions winning their conference tournaments and grabbing the automatic NCAA tournament bids. If there are several upsets in the 1 bid leagues you are probably right.

If we can't get into the Big Dance, I am with Gallia Cat and Mark, why not the NIT and play in Athens against Ohio State, a little revenge for 31 years ago? After that game the sky would be the limit.

There is a little bit of this season that also reminds me of our 2012 run. I seem to recall losing 3 of 4 in a January stretch in 2012, and if memory serves me correctly we weren't exactly on fire at the end of the season either. You never knew when a team can start to fire on all cylinders. Well a guy can dream anyway can't he?
