Last year we saw Treg become the X Factor as the year moved on, especially in the postseason. We entered this year knowing that while he was only a 12 ppg, 5 rpg guy we would sorely miss his intangibles (hustle, leadership, reckless abandon). I think we are seeing Mike Laster fill that role and come into his own. He is playing like a junior. He is playing like a guy who started as a freshman and has worked on his game and body since. I just think this guy deserves a huge shoutout for stepping up when we were in need. Say what you will about the guys we already know about but Big Mike has been huge and I hope it continues. If he is a threat to score in double figures that opens up Darty and Jaaron and JC inside.
Agreed. Laster is an example of why, if a guy is working hard, you just can't give up on him. It's why I have faith that Doug Taylor can turn into a serviceable big man. He's already doing well on the boards in limited action...hopefully the offense will come.
