The three point barrage in this game from Nick and Walt and the passing between everyone in the game was something to behold. My favorite was when the Kansas and North Carolina State fans turned on UNC once we started getting hot. Nick's three to take the lead for the first time still gives me chills.

Awesome scenes last night at Welsh-Ryan Arena and UD Arena. Two great games with drama on Senior night.
Going back and forth and sending texts to the Convo while the girls game was in progress last night. NU has our local kid Bryant at PG spot, flipping over to watch Ku and UD and watching UI and their game thread was a good night for excitement in hoops. All 3 games were dramatic and well worth the time to watch as their sagas unfolded.
I didn't catch that NW game until the highlights came. I wish I'd had it on, but I was totally engrossed in the UD game.

Still surreal to hear Marv Albert say "Ohio Bobcats"

What a game...

That 2012 team would bury this year's team I think. Man they were good.

I don't know about "talent" necessarily - though I probably agree there too esp. without Tone. But, that team played defense (because they had a coach that stressed it and the athletes to run it). That team had leadership/heart/toughness in spades. That team had ATHLETES (even if they were less talented) who could at least go toe to toe and hold their own when competing with the Michigan's, South Florida's and UNC's of the world (Offutt/Hall/Baltic/Keely/Smith in particular).

Those are all things this team severely lacks. What would a 7 footer like Zeller, or a 6'9 wing like Barnes do against our current iteration? *shudders*.

And, unfortunately, these are things I don't necessarily see ending anytime soon with #SaulBall. It is what it is.

Thanks for that link. Just re-watched the final 3 minutes. Wow. What a game. I don't like to play the ifs and buts game, but a few things I thought of:

-What happens if Barnes hits his FT instead of missing it and getting it tipped back to him for a 3? (a 4-point play to tie it at 57)
-In today's game, the elbow to DJ may have been called a Flagrant
-What if Offut hits the FT on the and-one?
-What if DJ buzzer beater doesn't rim out?

Wow.

I'll add to that:

-After we went up 4 and DJ got the steal, what if he just pulled out and waited for help or hit a pull up jumper instead of going toe-to-toe with Henson? Had we taken a bigger lead there I don't know if UNC could have come back. We were in their head by then.

We had plenty of chances but that was the beginning of the end for us. I believe I even said this back in 2012 - but that play was so eerily similar, that the first thought that popped into my mind was the Jeremy Fears missed breakaway dunk late in the 2nd half of the Florida game in 2005.
