I usually don't listen to the post game show on the way home from the Convo because, no offense to Saul or any other coach, but it's generally just coach speak. Tonight when I turned it on, Kenny Kaminski was on. Having never heard him speak before, I gave it a shot. Those three or four minutes should be taped and played for every kid coming to OU. When Rod McDavis talked about a transformative experience, what KK said is the embodiment of that. Well spoken, articulate, reflective and honest - what more could you want from a student about to graduate from OU or any college for that matter. A truly impressive young man. Best of luck!

Missed the post game show, glad you posted this Alan, happy to hear the young man took advantage of a second chance and made everyone the better for it. It doesn't always turn out this way, glad it did in this instance!

I believe the tv broadcast mentioned he's getting married in June too so I'm sure he's done a lot of growing up in his time here.

It wasn't so much what he said but how he said it. He did reference meeting the love of his life here, his comradeship with Drew, the chance that Saul gave him, the culture of the team, and playing his last game in the Convo. It seemed that he almost "lost it" one time which showed a true since of character and humility. I was truly impressed with the conversation and proud that he's a Bobcat.

+1

It's been a pleasure to watch in play. I always felt he was a good team player. He's a very streaky three-point shooter, but that's just him. Got to appreciate the whole package.

We have talked to Kenny and his Mom at Wendy's after several home games this season and talked to him on the floor tonight after the game. He is a wonderful, polite, respectful, humble young man. Certainly glad that Saul and Jaaron convinced him to become a Bobcat. I believe his 3 point shooting percentage ranks him the top 20 nationally, I'll take that all day long!

I'm surprised you don't listen Alan, the post game on the radio is part of our ritual on the way home and 9 times out of ten they're pretty good and informative. I especially like the player interviews.

+1!

This reminds me of how Treg Setty felt after his Senior Night last year. How do you NOT root/cheer for these kids who have ultimately fallen in love with the same campus we did?

I agree with that sentiment. Can't get my kid out of there. Home from Europe 36 hours and he would say "see ya, headed back to Athens" . It seems to capture many of them and never let them go. Kenny's interview was stellar and talked of many things familiar. I thought it said as much about the excellent state of the program and Saul as it did about Kenny himself and the changes OHIO facilitated. I know many friends who bolt for the door so they can get to the post game show.

Did not realize he was such a leader on the team. Very impressive. Good luck in the future KK.
