Even if it's for just five minutes a game. Even if he's just bridging the gap for the last minute before a media timeout to give others a longer break, play him. We have a 6'8'' decently athletic scholarship player in the middle of his second year in the program. It's time to see what he can do. Play him.

Unfortunately, I didn't hear Saul mention his name during the 'what now' segment of the coaches show.

If the coaches believed Ellis could help, don't you think we would have seen some minutes out of him by now...even before Campbell injury? Not sure why so many are wanting to see him play. Obviously, he hasn't panned out.

Ha...not class of '71...but that's a good one. I'm just being a realist. I'm sure there is a reason why this guy only sees time when we are up 30 against Urbana. Maybe I'm dead wrong. Maybe Saul will unleash him come MAC Tourney time. This way no one has any scout tape on him. That's sarcasm there.

But up to this point, he's obviously not ready. Just speaking the truth from what we observe from the outside. I'm sure someone closer to the program on this board can fill us in on when EDoz will be ready to play meaningful minutes in his career.

We should see what he can do. Hopefully we get a lead and can give him some minutes.

Totally not fair to Ellis with such a small sample size, but if what we're seeing during the very limited time he plays in games is any indication of what the coaches are seeing in practice daily---then he's not getting in for a reason.

Yep. Not a knock against Ellis but I live in the county he played his high school career and when he signed with us I had never heard of him. That very well may be on me since his school is in a different conference than our high school but I knew all about Mo Pearson before he signed with us. I've always viewed him as a project. But you never know. This might be his opportunity to get some minutes on occasion.

I do not miss a minute of home games when I'm in attendance. I've seen Ellis come in at mop-up time in a few games this year. I see a raw, freak of an athlete. Very lanky, very long, great ups. I haven't seen a real solid looking shot or offensive game. For what it's worth, he seems to be the first bench guy to enter when we secure a big lead. I think he's going to need to develop a little further before he sees serious PT.

My thought would be, and I don't know the answer to this: Can he defend and rebound well enough to spell guys for 5-8 minutes a game? If he can, I'm guessing we'll see more of him.

Dozier is listed at 6'8" but looks to be about 6'4" by the way he slouches on the court .. He is sooooooo timid when brought into a game ..

It seems as though we have several players on scholarship that are not capapble of playing at the D1 MAC level ..

BANG ?

+1 ^^^ Too many people on this board are afraid to say what they truly see when it comes to evaluating players up to this point in their careers. D-Knee is correct....we have too many scholarship players sitting on the bench that Saul can't even consider throwing out there for even 2 meaningful minutes.

I'll say it again....if EDoz could play 5 meaningful minutes per game, don't you think we would have seen it by now....before TC injury? I'm pretty sure Saul would have done it by now if he believed EDoz was ready.

Or..at least in other sports..may see what they want to see instead of what is really there.

3 games without Campbell.......0 minutes for Dozier. Don't see that changing the rest of the season. How much more evidence do people need to see that he won't be a factor this season and was never going to be? The numbers don't lie.

What happens when your schollies are taken up by guys who can't play?

You miss out on transfers from BIG d-1 programs such as JaCorey Williams who helped mid-major MTSU beat Michigan State in the big dance or Jabari McGhee at WKU who had 14 rebounds against Ohio not long ago.

Want to miss out on the next KK? It's going to happen.

We should send him to JUCO, he will keep falling behind. It is ultimately up to him, but since he redshirted, he could go to a JUCO and play his sophomore year.

It's not a farm system, you don't "send" players down. As another poster commented, just stop

It happens, ultimately it is the kids decision. Solich has sent football players to Fort Scott, who did not qualify. Gary Waters at CSU sends players elsewhere all the time. It is a poor precedent if it is used often, but if you have a talented player that can't get minutes, you can have a discussion with that player and put him in a position where he can go somewhere and play and work out his kinks. Some schools even have JV teams. http://www.espn.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/i...

Players who did not qualify is not the same as a kid currently on the roster. Take a kids scholarship and you will get beat up on the recruiting trail and maybe a shot at National News for doing so. I wish Mr Dozier nothing but the best experience he can have and I hope he enjoys his time here as a Bobcat. You sir are the poster child for having an aptitude test before you are allowed access to a keyboard.

What is so hard to understand that it is the kid's decision. Nobody said Yank his scholarship, even though coaches do that all the time. You need a reading comprehension class. READ and let go of all of our previous beefs or you will continue taking losses. We can take a GMAT or LSAT right now if it is that deep to you, inbox me.
