Although unfortunate, UNC Greensboro has punched their ticket to the NIT as well tonight.

Gonzaga is pulling away from Santa Clara. They are getting really good at the right time. I think this is the best and most rounded Zags team I can recall seeing. They have strengths across the board.

Ohio opponent Iona 22-12(12-8) just won the MAAC Tournament as the #3 seed over #4 seed Sienna 17-17(12-8) in overtime, 87-86. good game.

If I could drift to Women's for a moment, did anyone see the guard for Uconn go 10 for 10 from 3 last night? That is remarkable. And in a conference championship game...where Uconn more than doubles up USF. Hitting 10 of 10 all alone in a shooting contest is incredible, let alone in a competitive game.

100-44 is a competitive game? I mean, 10-10 is great, but there wasn't much riding on any of those shots.

I think he meant with defenders trying to stop you. To put this in perspective, South Florida is 24-8 and ranked #26. They are 24-5 against teams not named Connecticut. 20 of USF's victories are by 9 or more points. Their average margin against UConn is -49.7 points. I know how impressive UConn is but it just is not fun to watch.

Yes I meant what should be a formidable opponent considering it was a conference championship. Uconn's dominance aside, 10 for 10 from 3 is just amazing. Heck flipping a coin and landing it on heads 10 straight times is amazing.

I'm with you Van. As impressive as UConn's run is, I just find it boring as hell.

Sorry to see former Bobcat Jeff Boals and his Stony Brook Seawolves lose, but he seems to be a coach on the rise. Below are a couple of links. Who knows where Coach Boals might end up? Nothing like an article about you proclaiming; the next Mid Majors It Coach.

NKU wins the Horizon League and is headed to the NCAAs in its first year of eligibility. They were the only team in the tournament with a winning record to win a game.

OU Van, wow I didn't see it when I originally read the story and linked it here. Who knows either Faith No More is pulling out all the stops to get some publicity, or some star struck hacker still living in the 90s is having some fun.

Whatever the case, the article is certainly trumpeting Coach Boals season and his future.

One thing that doesn't hurt them is the newly renovated arena for recruiting. That's one of the nicest small arena's I've seen.

And they get in the Dance in their first year of eligibility BEFORE Northwestern does in its 78th year of eligibility. One of the great stories of the NCAA tourney. Something the football playoff could use.

I saw the first few minutes of the 14 seed Rutgers and the 11 seed Ohio State Big Ten Tourney game. I thought Rutgers wouldn't come close to being in the upper tier of the MAC. I just checked back and saw the last couple of minutes as Rutgers won. Rutgers is still a terrible team, but the Buckeyes didn't score a hoop in the last 5 or 6 minutes. I haven't seen much of Ohio State this year. Wow, talk about underachieving. The late Eldon Miller and the Randy Ayres era was a recruiting boom for us as Coach Nee and later Coach Hunter persuaded some serious talent to come our way. Who knows history may be repeating itself.

How about the week put in by Michigan? My lord, go from a potential disaster in life to that....that team is playing pretty darn loose and would not want to bet against them.
