Duke's Allen in all of college basketball player. Coach K, no saint himself, will no doubt defend his star player's latest antics.

Get's tangled up guarding Elon player then trips him. Gets assessed a "T" and is shown yelling at someone - the ref or the Elon player. Not sure what his gripe was or with whom.

Pretty clear that he stuck out his foot, again.

What could possibly be his gripe after the play? A better question - how can Coach K allow this to continue?

The Duke all-insufferable white guy team has to include Allen, Reddick, and Jon Scheyer, right?

What about the former UB head coach now being insufferable at Az. St?

No real gripe. Think he realized fast what he did again and tried to justify it by complaining.

I never really had a problem with Hurley, Collins or Wojo. This Allen kid is just the worst.

Meh. He'll miss a few games and keep playing. We've seen worse. He's gotta figure out this mental block he has with this stuff before it costs him a lot of money. He's now going to have to put up with a lot of trash talk from opposing players trying to goat him into getting kicked out of a game.

Next 5 games: Va Tech away, Ga Tech at home, BC at home, FSU away, Louisville away.

Expect the suspension to be a 4 games (at most). Coach K gets to look tough on discipline, but sacrifice little. Allen will absolutely be back for the game at Louisville on January 14th and probably the FSU game on the 10th to get his game back. Ironic that he returns for Louisville - where the tripping all started.

How about the MAC's all-time dirty team? Akron and Kent would be WELL represented...

Jamie Bosley (Akron)
Andy Hipsher (Akron)
Nate Gurnig (?) (Kent)
Ryan Andrick (Akron)

I'd love to know who made the decision to suspend. I'd bet a dollar to a donut that the decision came above Coach K

From his reaction on the bench it appears this child definitely needs some professional help.

I for one, loved watching JJ Reddick play. Talk about an all-out shooting machine!

I don't think the decision came from above Coach K at all. But he probably just looked at his own self-image, which is just SO applauded in the the national media, and thought it would be a great idea for HIS sakes if he suspended the kid. Which is just as ridiculous as the tripping.

100 right GoCat - It came from him, because he underestimated the response, so he had to take action to protect his reputation. The "Righteous Rat" thought that taking his little boy to the other team's coach and player like a father taking a misbehaving son to the neighbor's stoop would be enough because, as he said last night, "I handle things the way I handle them," he said. "I think I've handled this correctly, and moving forward, I will continue to handle it correctly. I don't need to satisfy what other people think I should do. I'm a teacher and a coach, bah, blah, blah," How dare you question me - you should genuflect in front of me.

But folks did question his handling of it, and should have. I do not like and do not agree with Stephen A Smith much, but he is 100% correct on this front: if this was Calipari or pretty much any other coach, we would be questioning HIS accountability, not just the players,

The coverage is quite amazing.

I find it way over the top.

We've got a hot-head playing basketball at Duke. He trips someone once every 20 games or so.

Better kick him out of school !!! Coach K is a terrible human being !!!

Goodness....

Are sports allowed to be contact sports anymore? We have all been scrapped, pinched, elbowed, grabbed, tackled, poked, and etc. so many times in our sports lives we've forgotten just about all of them.

Rough play exists. Dirty players exist. Suck it up.
