Ohio does need a center and adding one in the transfer portal is not easy with limited NIL money, while a freshman center is not likely to contribute. Bobcats have the Orlando duo (as long as Elliott is happy in Athens) and the trio of Reynoldsburg kids coming in. With Hadaway returning and Pav handling the point, the "big" problem has to be solved.
This is mid-major conference basketball, though, so let's see what happens in March before turning to all else.
Clayton is limited, everyone knows it, and OU has to play the hand that's been dealt. It's been a season-long process for this team to hold its own on the boards - the effort from all has to be there. I believe stopping the ball more consistently on defense is a necessary improvement moving forward because that sets up the defense to play how it wants to play.
So, huge game Saturday and the trip to Western isn't going to be a picnic. Muck Fiami! Then, handle Eastern and seek some roadkill at Toledo.
See you in Cleveland.
