I love watching Shereef on the court. He is obviously talented but it is how he conducts himself. Challenging the other team, walking into their huddles when there is not time out, engaging/agitating the other team are things that set him apart. I've noticed as the season has gone on Elijah is doing the same. I love seeing it and hopes he stays. We need that person on our team. He is becoming a leader as a freshman. Watched him pull Sheldon away from the ref against CMU when he was arguing that it wasn't a blocking foul on Elijah. Told him to let it go, let's get this. I hope we get to see him finish here and continue to grow.

We flat out need to do everything we can to keep Elliott. He is super smooth and not intimidated. Can totally see him as an All-MAC Team player before he’s done at Ohio.

I agree. His talent alone makes you want to see him here for 4 years. I just love the intangibles he brings. Mitchell has been a joy to watch. He is playing chess while others are playing checkers. I feel he is bringing that out in Elijah. Elijah is the type of player who makes you buy a ticket!

Totally agree. He still throws up the occasional wild shot but his control and thus his results are making great strides. You can see the game slowing down for him. I'm buying E2 stock.

Mitchell has been the best all around player on this team since his arrival.

Elliott is for real. I wouldn't mind seeing him play 30 mins per game the rest of the season.

Take a lot more, please. I really like Elmore - seems like a good person - but he contributes very little to this team, sadly. As for Sheldon, I'm wondering if what we're seeing now is more reflective of his talent level than what we saw last year. He's regressing in every way.

Elliott's shown a lot of really interesting flashes and you can see the outlines of what he's likely to become.

But the actual results have trailed behind quite a bit. I'm glad he's playing a more substantial role, and now that this season seems pretty unlikely to result in anything meaningful, I'm all for him getting a bigger role.

Since the Akron game, he's averaged 22 minutes a game, though I'd like to see that closer to 25 or so minutes and take those additional minutes from Sheldon. I'm more hesitant to take minutes from Elmore than Sheldon, just because this team lacks physicality and Elmore provides some.

Concur.

I thought James contributed to the team effort in the loss at Kent and hit a big three down the stretch and battled by keeping the ball alive on the offensive boards.

This pains me but it's true. Elmore has been a great teammate and seems like a great dude. I wish I knew what happened to him on the court? He has had some 20 point games early in his career that made me think he was going to be a steal. The same goes for Sheldon and his regression. I want the best for guys like Sheldon and James but not at the expense of playing young guys like Elliott and, next year, our new blood/Burris (don't sleep on Burris).

Coach Boals puts Reef on the bench after each personal foul. Reef will likely get a technical debating any ticky tack foul. Boals can't seem to coach this out of him.

Sometimes it’s just a normal “this kid hit his ceiling” that ended up being lower than expected.

Elmore looked like 1B to AJB’s 1A after last year’s season opener against Troy. Neither have them have consistently built on that and this might just be who they are at this level, with the chance we see more from AJB next season when AJC/Reef are gone.

Are you not watching AJB this season, esp the last 10 games? Dude is ballin. He's a junior but barely has a full season of exprience yet due to injuries. He's still developing and getting stronger. Headed for a huge senior year, me thinks.

That’s why I said consistently — as it relates to AJB, injuries fall under that blanket term. Yes, he’s on a tear and I’m hopeful it continues.

Yup. It would be quite hard for Boals to coach whining about fouls out of one of his players. Like an alcoholic Dad telling his teenage son not to drink. I'd love to see more of a positive "next play" mentality when we are whistled for fouls, and blow your gasket in select spots and you'll be taken more seriously.

I thought AJB was a junior too, but he shows up on the roster as a redshirt sophomore.

You can not get a medical until the end of eligibility. You may qualify but do not get it until then.
