Heady hasn't topped 20 all year and now he is Jalen Brunson....unbelievable.

Somebody has to explain to me why Boals will not bring Elliott back into the game in the last six minutes when he was one of the best players on the floor in the second half. And yes I know he had four fouls. Ridiculous to sit him for rest of game. Don’t get it.
Came here to say this. The four fouls is one thing, but it's pretty obvious CMU is exhausted. Let Elliot push the agenda and catch them sleeping for easy buckets. We made this way harder than it needed to be.

Guessing boals likes something EJ provides that Elliot does not. Not sure what that'd be.

Nothing comes easy for this team. Happy to hold on for the win but damn, really felt like they should've pulled away in the final minutes and not be praying to hold on for their lives at the buzzer.

Are we winning in spite of our coaching? Is it time for a change?

I continue to be impressed with Barbee. I know Auburn fans despise him but gets the most out of the guys he brings to Central. They played only six tonight and they kept coming like cockroaches. If only they could stay healthy and not have a mass exodus every offseason they might build something special. Look what he's done with that Jarusevicious or whatever. In one year he's tripled his production coming to the MAC from Cal State Bakersfield.

Wanted: Players with size who can create their own shot.

I want to retain Elliott, Brown, Pav, and Hadaway equally. I'll live with whatever other roster turnover may happen, but those four have to stay.

With all that said....with only 6 guys on your roster and one who fouled out and another with four fouls....how in the hell are you not shooting a 3 in the last 15 seconds for the win. They were gassed and would not have won in OT.

Gritty win. Refs were just bizarre. Called a lot of hand checks on us while CMU was bodying our guards all game. Strange.

Clayton obviously injured and gutting it out.

It’s gonna be a struggle with Clayton hurt and Hadaway out.

Eliott getting more confident every game. Good to see.

Even though he's the unknown....you keep Kuany as well and Burris probably comes back because he hasn't shown what he can do. Sheldon is a question mark.

Everyone else...Boals is going to have to tell some folks to walk.

Frustrating watching a 6'10 guy with skill excel at CMU and we've had nothing close to a player that size with effectiveness who can play 25-30 per game the last two seasons.

I don't want them to leave, but I think in the case of James, Sheldon, and Nicol there needs to be some honest reflection of what they can realistically contribute to the program and whether that's aligned with what they want out of what college basketball career they still have. Burris and Kuany obviously get a pass. Evans should be looking at the departures of Clayton and Searls as his golden opportunity to at MINIMUM solidify 15 minutes a night in the rotation.

Pav, Elliott, Brown, Hadaway, reliable frontcourt player TBD can be a contender.

Overall happy with the win. Really needed this one going into a big one against Akron on Saturday. Really hope the crowd shows up and makes noise. We need this one bad.

Hand checks are illegal, while being in legal guarding position using your body is not illegal.

Funny half the roster some of you want to leave, you couldn’t wait to get here on campus a couple years ago.

So sure if you want to talk about firing the equivalent of Danny Nee because you don't like his regular season record against Toledo, just know what you're asking for.

My expectations for our program are that we are annually one of the top 4 teams in the conference, have an expectation of making the conference semis every year, conference finals every 2-4 years. An NCAA appearance every 5 years and a win or two in the dance every couple appearances.

If you expect more than that, fine. I'm all for it. Just show me the 7 figure sack of money you're bringing to the table eacj year to make it happen.
There's not a single person here saying that we should fire Jeff Boals. Right now. We're pointing out a concerning trend line, mediocre results, and wondering how long that's acceptable.

When does the seat get hot?

I was all over Saul so I have to be equal with Boals. Boals got us to an NCAA Tourney in year 2 with a bunch of Saul guys and has not even sniffed a MAC title since. Just saying something has to give.

#theUpgrade vs #theLithuanian

"Upgrade" - zero points, 1 rebound, 5 fouls

"Lithuanian" - 25 points, 6 boards, 2 fouls

(recruiting matters)

So we're comparing backups to starters now?

I know it was high school, so take it for what it's worth (not much), but a friend of mine watched Burris play several times in high school. When I told him Burris was coming to OU, he was surprised. Said he looked like a player out of our reach, destined for a bigger school.

Maybe I have missed it, but I haven't seen anyone mention the random new guy on the mens roster. I looked him up last night, and he's a crossover WR from the football team. https://ohiobobcats.com/sports/mbball/roster/matthew-stue...

But I think this is a little bit of a reach. Saul didn't have a winning record vs MAC and hardly had a positive overall record. Boals knew how to play JP and BVP while Saul had a losing record with them. I think the team is in the right hands. They just need a player to step up and be a leader.

Why? Because we squeaked by CMU at home?

Yeah if we want to blame Boals for our bigs this year at least place the blame where it lies and that's on AJC and Boals trust in him to be the guy this year.

Of course all the other MAC coaches thought he'd be OK too since they voted him preseason player of the year, but whatever.

Searls and Evans were never meant to be more than a backup and essentially a redshirt this year. Searls has been fantastic in that role, even stepping up to start and holding his own while Clayton was out. Evans is lost but was never meant to see the court much this year. Goal is he becomes a bench guy next year and then look for starter minutes by year 3.

Some of you look at the portal and demand 1 year instant uogrades/impact - and we've done that too with guys like DW3, Jaylin Hunter, Reef and Pavs - but that doesn't mean you still can't/don't have developmental guys. Especially for bigs who notoriously take time to develop.

It was obviously Jeff's answer to bigs costing too much in the portal. Rely on your supposed player of the year with Hadaway as a running mate and find a plug in back up in Searls for this year. Then the "fix" for the bigs comes from recruiting a possible stud but you have to wait 2-3 years to reap the rewards.

My guess is we see another 1 year spot starter at center next year from the portal or D2 to again pair with Hadaway and then let Evans become the backup next year and starter in 26-27. That would also likely be the year to recruit the next HS big to develop behind Evans in hopes they're ready by 28-29.

I was quoting to display that one day ago BLSS said "nobody is calling for Boals to be fired" and the very next day, after a win, somebody literally called for Boals to be fired.
