I've never seen an Ohio basketball team win at BGSU. Not at Anderson. Not at The Stroh.

In 1983, I saw us get blown out at Anderson during the regular season. I skipped the MAC title game, also at Anderson, because I didn't want to see another embarrassing loss. We won.

I've seen us lose on a last-second, three-quarters-court heave by some punk named (Brian?) Rose. I've seen us lose due to a ridiculously bad call by a ref. I've seen us lose, most often, by pissing all over ourselves. I've even been hit with 2 speeding violations in/near BG, one on the way to a game (loss) and one heading home in disgust.

I have nothing better to do than to get in the car this afternoon and drive up routes 23/75 for tonight's game. Hell, I have the added incentive of 2 top-quality Dairy Queens along the way.(Chocolate cone at one, large Blizzard at the other.) Tickets are only $14 near the Ohio bench and I know where to park for free.

My question to all: How much are you willing to pledge to the Ohio Bobcat Club to convince me to stay home today?

You deserve a chocolate cone and blizzard. Bring home the "W" tonight.

I'll add $1.00 to my OBC pledge this coming year in hopes that it'll keep SBH away. However, it's the thought that counts, so I'll add that extra dollar, even if he still shows up. But, too bad no one will pay me to go to BG. My record is somewhat better than SBH's. I believe I'm 2-0 there. The one I remember the best was a 61-56 victory in Anderson Arena in 1963 against a BG team that featured two future NBA greats -- Nate Thurmond and Howard Komives. And, that was not one of Gentleman Jim's better seasons. He probably owes that victory to my mere presence! ;-)

I'm thinking Ohio wins tonight with SBH in the building. I was against him attending the MACC game in Detroit in early December due to his equally bad track record watching Ohio football in the Motor City. And we all know how that ended with Ohio's demolition of Miami. Same results tonight in the Stroh Center?

Congrats SBH on the victory tonight. I think that some of my BG karma must have rubbed off on you. Tonight you started a new streak!

Hmm . . . well, I guess my congratulations was a tad premature and your streak may still me intact. I'll still add an extra dollar to my OBC contribution in your honor.
