Sadly I'm convinced LeBron James could put on the green and white and we'd STILL lose at BG.

I remember watching Trent put up 46 in their building only to lose.

I don't remember Trent putting up 46 points at BG.

I know it wasn't his Freshman year.

And his Junior year (last Ohio season), he was nursing an injury and didn't put up 46 at BG. I believe that was one of the first games post Boals season-ending knee injury.

Did he put up 46 at BG his sophomore season? I must be having a massive brain cramp because I don't remember this.

I remember Trent putting up 40+ at home against Daniels and Floyd Miller and S-K-R.

At BG, regardless of venue, seems to be a house of horrors for the Cats over the years!

Looks like BG has won 8 of the last 14. We win at BG... 14% of the time.

Yep, sophomore year at Anderson Arena. 1/22/94 72-76 loss. GT had 46.

He had 46 at home that year with huge sibs crowd. I doubt he put up 46 on the road against BG the same year but if you show me a box score, I'll eat those words.

Trent had 46 at home against BG on 2/19/94. We won 84-70.

His next highest point total was 41 at West Virginia on 12/18/93. We lost 90-81. Bobcatsquared and I were in attendance.

This is a game we NEED. I have a good feeling, BG STINKS. Clayton 25+ points incoming, heard it here first.

Yep, need to get the ship righted headed towards Kent. Elliott needs to become the "Falcon Killer" taking the next FOUR straight in the Stroh Center. Go BOBCATS!

Ohio is 5-17 at BG since the turn of the century.

-Back-to-back wins for O'Shea in 05-06 and 06-07.

-Christian beat them both times in his two seasons.

-And Saul Phillips even has a win there. Groce and Boals both Ofer.

Legend has it O'Shea broke an Anderson Arena trash can en route to needing overtime to beat a BAD BG team. The Saul win BG was dealing with a ton of personnel problems. I think they started a football player. Ellis Dozier got his lone dunk in an Ohio uniform at garbage time.

Totally don't recall this at all. Would love to see a boxscore to see how we lost.

That's what the OU media guide says, so I must be remembering wrong.

But man, I was living outside Cleveland at that time. I distinctly remember the OU-BG game highlights on the evening local news, because they didn't normally cover either team. All they showed were Trent highlights and then followed it up with...but BG stole the win.

I also remember thinking it was crazy that both of Trents highest 2 scoring games were both losses (BG and WV).

I'd love to see a box score from the road BG game that year now too bc I must have it confused in my mind.

Regardless. Point remains. We never win there.

March, 1983, Ohio visits Anderson Arena for the MAC basketball championship game. This was when the MAC tourney was not played at a neutral site (Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus), instead having the higher seed host each game.

This was Danny Nee's 3rd season at Ohio. cc-cat and I drove up from Athens during our senior year, leaving SBH back in Athens as some sort of speculation we had of the bad luck he would eventually bring to Bobcat football and basketball teams in games played at BG.

Ohio had as a good a frontline as I've seen with Devereaux, Alexander and Hicks with Cole coming off the bench. Cole would be the best frontline player on this year's team. The Bobcats then beat Illinois St. in the NCAA tourney before losing to Kentucky. BG came in on a 7-game winning streak, including a 14-pt win over Ohio about 2 weeks earlier.

Why not play Searls and Clayton at the same time once in a while?

I swear refs hate Pav. I’ve never seen someone get mugged without a call like he does.

Frustration continues. Four missed layups and this team should be up by 10 and instead we somehow trail at the half. And why do we trail at the half?

34 seconds left in half and 29 on the shot clock Pav throws up a 25 footer that even if it goes in, we have no shot for a 2-for-1 opportunity. I have no idea why that shot would be taken in that situation. And then of course, BG comes down and Chubbs knocks in a 25 footer at the buzzer. Aren’t these end of half shot clock situations practiced and understanding shot clock in relation to game clock?

That final 34 seconds of the half is the Ohio season in a nutshell. And this current BG team is horrid.

He doesn't go strong enough. You have to go strong into the defender to get the call.

Seems to me one of those Bowling Green versus Ohio games in Athens was the biggest crowd ever in the Convo. Maybe something like almost 14,000?

Trent v Antonio Daniels on a Wednesday circa 1995 had a great crowd. But I think the matchup you're thinking of goes further back.

B2. I believe I am thinking of one that’s older than that. Especially considering I’m a 71 guy. Seems like the Convo was still fairly new for the game
I’m thinking about.
