Just about all of the experts have Kent pegged as a 15 seed. Even Lunardi has them playing Kentucky in round one. Not a good look for the MAC. Was going to pick them in round one if they were at least a 14, but not anymore. I doubt Akron would have been any better than a 14....13 maybe.

Before the game last night Lunardi had Akron as a 13, and I thought that was generous. I don't see how Kent is anything other than a 15. There's a better chance of them getting screwed as a 16 than a bump up to 14.

Bracket Matrix has Kent State as the top 15 seed with NKU right above them as the last 14. Those two could easily be swapped. Something to keep an eye on tonight.

Also if Yale can come back and beat Princeton that might move Kent State up to a 14 as well.

Jeez. I'd imagine they'd be a 14. But I guess we'll see.

Kent vs RPI top 250 teams in non conference-

L 103 G Mason
L 115 Wright St
L 116 S Dakota
L 135 Northeastern
W 157 Texas
W 190 Wofford

hard to make a case for a team with that non con record and a 14-8 record vs the MAC in a down year.

It is hard to argue. But it's also hard to argue that the right team didn't make the dance for the MAC. Kent State is 9-1 in their last ten games with two wins over Akron, two wins over Buffalo and two wins over Ohio.

If they get a 15....Kent might be the most dangerous 15 seed in recent memory.

That is one heck of a run.

I don't think Hall or any of their bigs translate outside mid-major land however. Not expecting much from them in the NCAAs.

But you only made half the argument. You didn't even look at who you are comparing them to.

Kent State's 6 wins over Ohio/Akron/Buffalo are better than all except for NKU's one win over Valpo.

NKU only has 6 top 200 wins all year. They are 6-7 vs top 200 teams. Kent State is 11-9.

Kent ended up as a 14 and they get rewarded with a game against UCLA in Sacramento. touch draw.

Yep...they have no chance, but I'll be rooting for them.
