Remember watching Colin Cowherd last year doing an analysis of how the top coaches in each respective league were wired. Don't remember exact details, but his point was that the top guys aren't necessarily "player coaches," "media friendly," and "raw-raw fun guys." I remember him singling out Saban, Harbaugh and Belichick. Top guys are tough, jerks, difficult, hard drivers, etc... Nice guys in his analysis are winning the press conferences, but aren't the guys doing the big time winning.
I don't know Dambrot, but he comes across as the Bad Boy of the MAC and while there's some shortcomings on his resume, Akron is the bully on the block. OHIO's spending half the season trying to calculate how not to be on their side of the bracket in Cleveland. I don't like Akron or Dambrot, but I respect their results on the court year-in-year-out. I'll let the fun comedy guys lead something else in my life other than my basketball team.
