Let's say after this season we had the chance to pick any of the three to be our coach next season, who would you take? All things considered....

I think I would go with Groce. He's got the best name recognition with our fans, and seemed to be a great balance between firey coach and recruiter. Also, now that he has tasted the Lime Light and failed, he might be less likely to jump. Where I think Saul will probably make a move in the next years.

While I disagree that Saul will bolt before his daughter graduates from AHS, if due to some tragedy like a resignation due to serous illness, I would also want Groce over JC by a large margin.

It's a hypothetical question, you know the type of thing that people like to discuss on message boards.

We've already done at least one thread on this. This horse is dead, thankfully.

Some of you are like pathetic heartbroken sorority girls. Groce, Christian, 0'Shea all loved you and left you.

Yea, Groce may have provided you the best sex when he was here and you can rationalize why he left for Illinois to make yourself feel better, "I totally understand why he left. I mean illinois is really beautiful and has lots of money. It's what he wanted so I'm glad for him I really am. But OMG I would totally take him back. In like a second. I mean it was partly my fault he left. I could have given him more. I should have been there more for him."

Screw that and screw Groce and all. They chose to leave. Saul chose to be here. He wants to be here and he is going to continue to be successful here. So f$ck Groce. He chose to leave.

Yea he treated you to some nice vacations and bought you some nice jewelry while he was here, but there were also some bad times (which are often pushed out of the memory of ex relationships). Then he chose to leave. To dump you. To get out of you what he needed and then move up and on. Leaving you with the classic "it's not you it's me. It is just something I have to do."

He chose to move on and its time you do as well. Take down the photos from the mirror and stop smelling the shirt he left behind. Move on.

+1. The only reason John resonates with our (fringe) fans is the Sweet 16. No other reason. When Saul gets us some new Dancin' shoes, and he will, this will be history in the way that it should be.

Every single one of us would have left for Illinois, unless Ohio stepped up the salary level by about a million dollars. Anyone who says otherwise is a kool aid sipper.

Being a Marriage and Family Therapist, I completely understand the reluctance to fully commit to the new coach, especially on the eve of an important tournament for all of us Ohio basketball fans. It's not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop at the end. We went to great heights with Coach Groce, committed so much, and dreamed so big that it made no sense that our loyal relationship was not enough for him. We then suffered the rebound relationship in the form of Coach Christian. Based on his past record in the MAC and the fact that his wife was a graduate of Ohio, it wasn't just a physical relationship that we had with him, but a spiritual one. Now we must settle for the nice stable guy in the form of Saul, and it is hard to put it all out there like before, but we will, and, yes, it will be painful if we don't win the MAC Tournament, let alone fail to get past our upcoming game with Toledo. We will live to fight for our relationship another day, until we end up dumping Saul for another, just like we dumped our High School sweetheart, Larry Hunter. Amen!

MAC Tournament quarterfinals start right now, there are tons of games that could be discussed in this forum all afternoon, and some are still obsessing over a guy who left FIVE YEARS AGO, or getting angry at a guy who left three years ago. Consider that for a moment.

There's something eerily revealing about this thread. I suppose the people who need to read it the most aren't, or perhaps just ignoring thinking about it.

Maddog 13, I see you are in Glendale and having worked on some projects in the Hollywood-Burbank area, I know your plate must be full. However, if you ever think about establishing a satellite office, many of us Browns fans could use your diagnosis from time to time. Maybe, I don't want to know what you think of our situation. Anyway, thanks for the post, I like revealing analysis like that from time to time.

90% of life is just showing up. The other 10% is complaining.

All of the hypotheticals and the moral victories that we have created over the years and this hurts your feelings. These are Saul players, so he would be bast with this group. If we had multiple schollies, I would rather have Groce because he is the best recruiter of the bunch. We have to stop falling head over heels so quick. Saul could walk out on fifth avenue and shoot somebody and he would have hundreds of people saying he should remain. Thei are lines around the corner to wash his car weekly. Let him win the MAC first. Go Cats

I would but I hyperventilate every morning smelling my leftover John Groce shirt. Oh Johny we miss you so 😂😂😂😂. Move on folks move on.

Instead of this stupid thread shouldn't there be a thread about how Saul has taken a team that lost the best player in the conference to a second place regular season finish and is battling in the tournament semis? Or we can fawn over Groce.

Saul has done a great job this year, but he does not deserve to be celebrated and he has not earned a lifetime coaching status. FACTS

Maybe "Alternative Facts", but not real "FACTS". This is solely your own opinion.
