From the Daily Dirt over the past couple days:
A hot name at Miami (OH) is Butler assistant and Ohio native Ryan Pedon. He is a former Miami (OH) assistant (2005-10) and graduate assistant (2000-02). College Sports Solutions is handling this one which I’ve heard will pay in the $330,000-$350,000 range. With this price tag, I would assume that there will be a bunch of current head coaches in the mix as well (in fact some are speculating that head coaching experience will be required, which would then knock my “hot” name out of contention). I should have a better idea of names in the next few days.
Another name that I’ve heard is South Dakota head coach Craig Smith. The former NAIA National Coach of the Year at Mayville State won 22 games this season at USD. Interesting connection here – the associate AD at South Dakota is the son of Jeff Schemmel, the guy who runs CSS (the search firm handling the Miami search).

Oedon came to Illini from Toledo IIRC and then went to Butler with Miller.
He is really good and a smart dude. Very nice fellow to boot. That would leave a spot on Chris' bench as Ryan has been his right hand and there is no one that strong on staff to move up one chair as Butler usually has done with assts over the years resulting in Matta, Lickliter, Stevens, Miller, Holtmann,
