This has been discussed a little on some other threads, but I think it's an important enough topic to get its very own thread.

I know nothing myself about what might happen, but I certainly hope he stays. We've got some posters who are close to the program. What are you hearing?

I'm not close to the program, but I'm operating under the assumption he's staying until it's announced otherwise.

I think he is all in. He has full autonomy. I hope Jaaron Simmons has a great senior season and gets a shot to play in the NBA.

The mere idea that he might leave is born on this board. There's never been mention outside of here. Why is it a topic? What is there actually to discuss?

It has been mentioned on BA a lot of times. It's because he's a junior redshirt and with one more year of eligibility, the question has to be asked if he's graduating on time. Because if he is going to graduate this year, he is able to transfer for grad school. I have said it before that a certain school in Columbus will be looking for a one year rental at PG so yes this is a situation worth monitoring given the circumstances of today's NCAA. And no I am not making this up, my sources there are telling me the hunt is on for a PG.

The hunt is one for a PG because their PGs were absolute crap this year. But that still doesn't explain why Simmons would even be a candidate. Because we live in Ohio? Because he played pretty well against them in the preseason scrimmage? From my best estimation, Jaaron Simmons is probably happy where he is, happy that we took him and gave him a shot as a transfer, and probably doesn't want to leave and learn a new system and learn how to play with a bunch of new guys again. He's not going anywhere.

EDIT: and for what it's worth, OSU never offered Jaaron out of high school. Think he might feel a little slighted by them and doesn't want to play for them anyway?

Ohio State sucks, if he were to transfer I would hope he would pick a school with a coach that could help Jaaron improve as a player. He has a good situation here, he has full autonomy, I don't think he will leave. Louisville took Trey Lewis from Cleveland State, I am sure they would be interested, UC and Xavier would be interested as well.

Not disagreeing at all. I'm just telling you flat out that bigger schools will be closely monitoring his situation and seeing if there is a possibility of him leaving. And like I told you, my guys in Columbus are telling me they are hunting for one.

I think it's unlikely that UC would be interested. They have two pretty good PGs for next year. X has Edmond Sumner unless he's unable to return immediately, and a 4* Freshmen, to be Soph PG.

Agree with Buckeye to Bobcat - the key to know is whether he'll be able to graduate at the end of the spring semester. Agree with you, allen, that his situation here is pretty darn good.

Lastly, I stand by my opinion of "I'm operating under the assumption he's staying until it's announced otherwise."
