Seems they vote to move on vs SLU due to distance. As they say in Chicago....vote! or else...

Good job BA. Ohio vs Dayton in Sweet 16. I suspect if they get to play they win even with Walsh on staff, I think Dayton is 6 and 5 on the year. .

If they have to use the votes Dayton Fanbase will put them over the top just by sheer numbers. Manager Games are getting bigger and more organized every year. Greg Oden, Chris Duhon and such making them bigger each year

Can you educate me on this concept further. When you say "managers" who does that include? Are we talking athletic trainers and low level assistant coaches? Are these former players or just volunteer college students? Sorry for my ignorance but I truly have no clue who these teams are and how they they came to be in a basketball league of their own.

Good article on the history

https://www.fanragsports.com/cbb/the-managers-of-march-ma... Bilas, Fran Fraschilla and Dakich have all got on board on broadcasts.

Assts, GAs , video co ordinators, staff. Pick up games that happen after team is at the hotel, scout is done, dinners and bed.... and staff has access to courts so they started playing freindly games. Has become organized fun.....and now competitive. Ohio had 18 managers this year a d their own Twitter/Periscope https://twitter.com/OhioUManagers They are a good group of guys that do a LOT of work. I like em.

From the article

“What if I told you that over 160 Division I manager teams play structured pickup games, that those results are ranked on a web site maintained by a Michigan State athletics administrator, and that last season a national championship tournament was held during the Final Four in Houston… and that a similar event is on tap at this year’s Final Four in Phoenix?*

“Managers are the hardest workers in basketball and put in far more hours than the players,” said ESPN analyst Jay Bilas, who benefited from the help of managers as a player and assistant coach at Duke. “As far as their games, they have a great sense of humor. They know they’re not players, but they love to play.”

Not sure if that answers your question. I do not think there are a lot of hard and fast rules. Mostly just fun.....and they would not mind going to Phoenix to play.
