Van, I think there are a couple more, but your point still remains, they've lost the majority of their scholarship players. Other guys on the roster appear to be Ty Dalton and Aaron Jackson. Craig Eubanks shows on Verbal Commits as a walk-on, but is on the roster.
Missed Jackson. Didn't include Dalton and Eubanks because I was mostly referring to guys with experience coming back. Either way Groce is walking into a tough situation. He's almost certainly going to have to go heavy on JUCOs to start or have a Wilderness Campaign season like we did in 1998.
He will have to go heavy on Juco's or grad transfers. We and Akron are in great situations. SP has his players, plus two schollies for this year and two for next. Groce has 5 or 6 schollies, so he will have his team well in place within the next three years.

slightly off topic but..

twitter suggested I add former bobcat Ryan Taylor, I clicked on his twitter account and was surprised to see that in spite of being at EU for two years now his profile his still him in a Bobcats uniform and his header pic is still a pic of him in a team huddle in the Convo. scrolling through his tweets about 90% of them are from or about Ohio players. Lots of Jaaron, Ndour, Campbell retweets. And virtually nothing about his current team.

it makes his departure all the more confusing. he clearly has a deep bond with this team, why did he leave?

wow, he was a big loss. Maybe, he was unhappy with his dip in playing time and production. Who knows? http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2015/07/13/report-... /

He was a big loss, and a surprising one obviously. It is, however, important to consider who his departure has allowed Ohio to recruit who might now be important to the team. And I'm not just referring to him specifically, but just as a general thought. Every player that leaves opens up a chance for someone new, who might be just as important in the long run to the program.

Example: the decommits of JC recruits probably paved the way for Kaminski and Simmons to transfer to Ohio. On that occasion, I call that a recruiting win for Ohio.

its easy to track Ryan's scholarship-

- 6/30/15: Jason Carter commits, filling Ohio's only open spot for 2016-17.
- 7/30/15: Ryan Taylor announces transfer.
- 4/24/16: Rodney Culver takes Ryan Taylor's scholarship.

Ohio has all 13 scholarships filled for 2016-17 with expectation of 3 opening up at end of season for seniors (Campbell, Kaminski, Mompremier)

- 6/26/16" Gareri commits
- 7/28/16: Butler commits
- 8/1/16: Vander Plas commits

Ohio lands 3 freshmen based on that expectation. Ryan Taylor's scholarship remains open.

Both Weathers boys leaving Miami. Xavier and NKU according to WLW.
This could be addition by subtraction. These guys seem to need major altitude adjustments from what I witnessed.
More than you know. Inside source I know at Miami is very thankful they have moved on.
Michael Weathers commits to Oklahoma State.

I'll be very interested to see what comes of this. My only problem is the way the grad transfer rule is handled with no sit out year.

The latter half of this article is interesting regarding grad transfers:

Thanks for the share Ohio69. Key in those final paragraphs is that the receiving school (seemingly) currently pays no price at all. I'm curious if the player doesn't actually graduate with a graduate degree if it hurts APR? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they don't get the undergraduate degree, it hurts APR, and ultimately costs scholarships.
