Okay, I have a philosophical question. Most of that stuff is pretty bad but what would preclude any of them from working as a stripper if it is legal in the state?

I can see an issue because they are high-profile reps of the university. The school doesn't want that kind of image problem. And requiring under-age drinking for girls to be a part of the squad is probably a violation of school rules. No one's accusing the athletics dept of using their escort service ... yet.

They should definitely be kicked off the squad. I'm not sure what kind of cheerleading activities go on in the spring that they're being suspended from. Maybe the baseball team that won the national championship last year?

But if they WEREN'T cheerleaders, would the school come down on them this hard? Or at all? I imagine some non-cheerleaders do the same thing. CCU is a public school so it probably doesn't have the same morals policy for its students that the church-run private schools have.

Speaking of "high profile representatives of the university".
Does anyone remember when O.U.'s President,I believe it was Glidden, wouldn't let an O.u. cheerleader appear on Jeopardy in her uniform because he felt it was a poor reflection on the university.

The Carolinas have had a hell of a collegiate year. Champs in baseball, football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and now most hospitable cheer team.

Sounds like the heavy set white male needs to lighten up a bit. College kids smoking pot and drinking underage. Shocking!

Morality clauses, and the fact that you represent a school as a member of the athletic teams (remember we want sports to be the front porch to a University). Universities have been able to take action on such issues in the past.

He also may need to contact an attorney and get ready for a few defamation lawsuits heading his way. He said the cheerleaders were engaged in prostitution. I don't know that escorting, without sexual favors, constitutes prostitution.

Based on recent "stings" in this area,it doesn't seem like like many escorts don't engage in prostitution.

Being a few miles from NYC, there are ads for escort services all over the place.
Have to love ads like "special afternoon rates" and "24 hour service with 30 minute arrival time".
I guess some guys forget about that 3 am business party and need to get a date in a hurry.

We had to put a clause for prior approval of secondary employment in our employee manual when one of our patients came in and very loudly was talking to one of our nurses across the receptions desk about seeing her act last night. We did not know she had picked up a second job at "joker's Wild". When I asked about it as it had seemed to cause a distraction within the office she said she loved the day job but made more in an hour of tips than she made in a day as a medical assistant. Obviously, I had not heeded my residency director's advice to hire staff that looked like Green Bay Packers in order to avoid the problems he had with keeping his hands off the help.

I think that cheer squad is representing the U and there is a moral obligation not to work in certain professions. Certainly remember the Playboy issue many years ago where it featured a Police Officer from SPringfeild O and ended up in court for wrongful termination.
