After all the hype and rumors, the Knicks didn't trade Porzingis and took 18 year old French Point Guard Frank Ntlikina with their first pick.
This is the player that almost every sports pundit said they'd take.
Don't know if this pick provides any insight into how the Knicks feel about keeping Mo.
The feeling out here among sports writers is at best the pick is 2-3 years away from having any impact on the team.

I don't think the Knicks have much potential for being competitive for at least a few years, so it makes sense for them to take a guy who might be a few years away from contributing at a high level. As to how that relates to Ndour, I don't know. Maybe as a younger guy, he'll get more opportunities because the Knicks are sort of admitting they are rebuilding.

Ntilikina isn't even the best point guard in the French League.

The whole Knicks situation is about to get more dicey.
According to all the news and sports reporters out here, the Knicks fired Phil Jackson and will make the official announcement as soon as today.

After the draft and without a plan. Typical from the top.
Will be interesting to see a new offense, the weight lifted from several players. Carmelo is still not a winner but at least he won and outlasted Phil. A shame since he was an excellent coach over the years. Notsomuch as an administrator

Would like to see how the Knicks would have been able to do if they had been able to move Carmelo. Open shooters wither on the vine with Carmelo on the court.

Running the triangle in the era of the Warriors, Cavs and Rockets always felt like they were bringing a musket into a modern firefight.

The Knicks made it official.
But they didn't have the intestinal fortitude to do a Press Conference.
They just issued a short Press release.

He is probably in line for a million per year contract ala JR Bremmer a few years back. DJ will probably decline any summer camp invites.

$1.3 million guaranteed if not cut by today. They're clearing out cap space. He should get at least a shot with another team.
