Indy has Crossroads Classic with intrastate clash at Banker's Life

Now Michigan schools have put together an intrastate classic... https://www.nhl.com/redwings/news/michigans-college-hoops...

Ohio Schools could do the same as many here have said.

I would like to see Pennsylvania and the DC area meet similarly.

Florida, Texas, Kansas and Iowa seem to be naturals as well. Local Rivalries seem to have some natural draw.

Would love to see it in Ohio, but A&T would probably insist on playing a D2 "powerhouse" like Ashland College, explaining that it would be good exposure for them.

I agree but taking the top draws and leaving their sorry hoops program on the outside looking in with the 4 best opposing conference attendance kings makes sense. UD, Cincy, Ohio and X...... for example

I would love to see an event, something like "The Capital Classic" or "Capital Clash" that includes those teams and make it happen at Nationwide Arena and promote the crap out of it in Central Ohio! Using a tagline like "Come see Ohio's best college hoops!"

Don't know how much TOSU has Nationwide Arena's cajones in a vice but if they are in the business of renting the place out it could happen.

The DC area has had the BB&T Classic since 1995 in various formats. From 1995 to 2004 it was Maryland and George Washington against two other P5 teams from outside the area. In 2004 George Mason joined the fun with Michigan State the only outsider. In 2005 it expanded to six local teams (Maryland, GW, GMU, Navy, American, and Howard)but it was no longer in a tournament format. It's been a one day, one game per team format since with the lineup of area teams changing yearly. Georgetown finally joined the fun three years ago but Maryland dropped out.

How about a challenge between States? (ex: Pennsylvania vs Ohio) Michigan vs Ohio is a natural but Ohio State already plays the Michigan P5 schools so I'm not sure it would work.

It could be a great event at Nationwide, or UD Arena, or The Q. UD, UC, X, Wright State, and the four teams in the MAC that finished the best the year before. Two sessions, an all day event. It's nuts they haven't done it already. Fans would show up for this as long as it was on a Saturday.

Since tOSU won't be part of it, do it without them.

Another thought I've had is to create a MAC vs Horizon League vs MVC "challenge".

OSU wouldn't be a part of it, and Xavier and Cincinnati get no benefit out of playing in Columbus, it would really only have sense to have in Cincinnati.

Have Cincinnati vs the best Ohio MAC team and Xavier vs the best Ohio Horizon team, play it in renovated US bank arena.

I'd show up to watch that double-header if the price was right, and it was on a Fri/Sat/Sun.

They could almost do a Cincy/Dayton area tourney with UC/Xavier/Miami/Dayton/Wright St and invite us to make it an even number. The Southern Ohio Classic.
