The 1994 MAC tournament in the Convention Center in Columbus. Gary Trent runs down the right side and goes up for an alley-oop. The pass is a little behind him, but with one hand he reaches back, catches the ball, and rocks the rim with a one-handed slam.

The place went NUTS! For those of you too young to have seen Trent play at OHIO, it was nothing short of watching a man play against children.

Said Convention Center was Battelle Hall....a true gem, ha!

The 3 to tie it is my vote. I loved how the partisan crowd all became Ohio underdog fans (think of the fan seating as 8 different pie slices -- 6 of those slices were indifferent until the game was tied, then a 7/8 section standing ovation for the Bobcats with 2 minutes to go)

I was living in Nashville and hadn't paid attention to Ohio athletics for about 10 years when a friend mentioned they were going to be in town for the tournament. He suggested I call and get us some tickets so we could sit in the Ohio section. I can't name one particular play that was a favorite though because we were going insane throughout the entire comeback. Even though Ohio lost we still had a blast. That experience and the start of the Solich era sparked my re-engagement with Ohio athletics as an alum.

Mike Reese to Gary Trent Ally Ooop at St. John Arena.

Walter Offutt layup and 3 point opportunity against UNC would be the all-timer if he would have made the FT to send OHIO to Elite 8.

1. Leon tip-in to win the MAC.
2. Too many Trent plays to remember.
3. Gus Johnson nailing a 3 to beat Toledo in 1995 in a game that was televised by ESPN 2.
4. I hate to say it, but the triple overtime loss to Fiami in 1992 was still one of the greatest games at any level that I've ever seen in person.
5. Storming the court at Battelle Hall after winning the MAC in 1994.
6. A good friend of mine absolutely bricking the lay-up during the lay-up, free throw, 3-point contest. I still give him grief to this day.
