Bob Huggins just Lost the best assistant in the game. Coach Billy Hahn has announced his retirement from his position at West Virginia University.
Many of us will remember Billy from his days here in Athens and he was always one of the best
College basketball will miss Billy Hahn

I recall a funny story involving Billy Hahn. It was my senior year and Billy's and Danny Nee's first year. It wasn't a good situation for me, being the only senior on a team that wasn't going to be very good. I think we were in the airport in Chicago on our way to the holiday tournament at Illinois on a layover. We were in a coffee shop having lunch. Billy and Danny were sitting catty corner from me and Kirk Lehman and Mick Isgrigg. We had finished up and Billy looks at me and says "who would you rather be playing for right now, Coach Nee or Coach Bandy", obviously trying to bait me. Kirk and Mick, who could see where this was going, looked at each other and said "we're outta here". I was locked in a passive aggressive situation with the coaching staff all year and felt I could say whatever I wanted. I said, "Coach Bandy, of course". Billy went crazy and it all went downhill from there. Danny surprsingly didn't say much.
