It used to house the 110 pep band, now it's empty and mostly unused. Here's an idea for it:

(note - I know there's no chance, but it was something new to discuss on a Friday)

Not bad idea. Or how about flip the seating chart and put the band back there again and the opp team bench next to them....

you think the MAC office would allow the teams to cross on the way to the Locker room?

They do it at Peden; cannot three refs control the home team to wait till the visitor clears like in football?

Home bench needs to be by locker room. My only thought was getting the band closer to visiting team bench.

The Fire Marshall will not allow the band back at that portal due to emergency evacuation plans.

So putting a bar right there would be perfect - everyone would want to be there, and would then have easy access to a way out if there's a fire. :)

Moving the band back would expose just how far the Ozone has fallen.

Not a lot you can do with that space.

I've actually wondered how much of an impact the band being in the O Zone actually matters to the other students. Personally, I wouldn't like a trombone blowing in my ear if I'm in the section right next to it. But they have been the rowdiest of the bunch in recent years.

I've often thought it could be sold as a group seating area (a suite, or maybe divided into 2-3 suites) with food and beverage service. Sort of the Rohr room, but without requiring a specific BC donation to be able to access it.

It just seems like wasted space to me right now.

The Fire Marshall will not allow the band back at that portal due to emergency evacuation plans.

During a fire safety meeting this past year, one of my engineering co-workers commented that you have a higher likelihood of being trampled in the stairwell exiting the building than dying from the actual fire. This led to a spirited debate between our engineering team on the flow rates of people into each of the stairwells in our building.
I used this time to find online tutorials showing correct procedure to exit a building in case of a fire.
