I covered Reggie during his h.s. days at Linden McKinley, another lifetime (and career) ago.

I'm a Cavs fan and can admit that is a fantastic looking ring. They did a great job.

Sorry, Alan. Let me be a little bit more clear. I covered Reggie as a just-out-of-college sports reporter for Suburban News Publication in central Ohio. Although, looking back, I think I would have had more success covering Reggie as a basketball player than covering him as a reporter.

Reggie played during my Ohio dead period (I had just left Athens and moved back East) so while I know the name I don't know that much about him. Back in those days I would listen to the George Michael Sports Machine phone line to get scores but obviously didn't get specifics. In looking at his numbers he had an odd career. His points and minutes declined every year. Did he get hurt? Did he just lose time because Dave Jamerson and Snoopy Graham showed up on campus?

I have known Reggiesince his high school days at LINDEN McKINLEY high school in Columbus.. I got involved with him as Danny,Billy and Fran taught me how to buy hamburgers and Pepsi's for the future BOBCATS,
Tue and Fri notes in the Linden gym were a blast--Reggie was DA MAN and he soon learned the Bobcat fight song. His Bobcat years were loaded with injures but loyalty was always there.
After the cap & gown he coached at several collies including the Dayton Flyers among others.
When ESPN called he joined them as the high school expert and moved to Fla for the job. A phone call from the NBA. Warriors got him off of television and scouting the college ranks for future players
I would see Reggie on his TV gigs at Monterverde Prep in Fla where MANY COLLEGE PLAYERS ARE PLAYING
His TV knowledge kept ESPN very happy until Golden State called
Reggie can still sing the Bobcat fight song with all of us
Wear the ring with pride Reggie................

Great thread - that ring is awesome

Reggie is a wonderful person

Per the Snoop and Jamerson comment above - I am 1000% confident they would both tell you Reggie was a Great "team" player that helped launch both their individual successes
