"You're not recruiting for teams, you're trying to recruit for programs. It doesnt always work out that way, but the more you recruit for your program, the better youre going to be. Think about it: When you recruit a player, you're not just recruiting that player, but you're also recruiting the family and anyone else who is involved. And you have to really evaluate that family and their desires. You can't look at it and say they'll be patient with the process. That is not possible. To me, you need to have that conversation beforehand, because once a player signs, they must understand the typical ups and downs of a basketball career."
