I think we are in for a surprisingly good year. I was looking for others' opinions on here. Join in if you would like.

1. Who makes the "big" leap this year out of Doug, Block and Dartis?
2. How many points per game will Laster average?
3. Will Carter make All-MAC First Team?
4. Which of the freshmen will explode?
5. How many of the 4 freshmen will play significant minutes?
6. Who will be our starting point guard by the time MAC play begins?
7. How many minutes will Gollon play per game?
8. What impact do you think Mickle will have?

My answers:
1. Block into double figures.
2. 11 ppg.
3. Yes, 15 ppg, 8 rpg
4. Butler.
5. Butler/Kirk
6. Butler
7. 5 mpg
8. First guy off the bench to replace Doug in post.

1. Dartis
2. For Laster, 9 points per game
3. Absolutely. Also a leading contender for MAC Player of the Year
4. Zach Butler. Not necessarily with lofty numbers, but by impacting games.
5. Three. Butler, Teyvion Kirk, Bennett Vander Plas
6. Butler
7. Twelve
8. Significant, playing as a reserve at both power positions.

1. Doug. Just feel like he's ready to burst and show what he's made of. That offensive rebound off the missed free throw against Kent in the MAC tourney showed me something.

2. Mike's never gonna be the eye-popping stats guy, at least IMO but he has improved immensely since day one on campus. But I think he stuffs the sheet with a little bit of everything. I'll say 8. We need a consistent 8/5/3 stat line and Mike can do that.

3. Yes.

4. Either Butler or Kirk.

5. I think all four will get significant minutes...depending on the rotation and foul trouble. The two guards are going to battle it out for PT all year. If Jason has foul trouble, we'll see more of Gareri. But if he stays out of foul trouble I think we see more of BVP subbing guys like Block and Laster.

6. Butler

7. Question of the year. How much has he improved? How far along is he compared to the freshmen? I don't know if I can put a figure on him since he's almost just as unknown as the two new guys are. 10? 15? 20? He might be the starting PG for all we know.

8. He'll be a big defensive piece off the bench when needed. A change of pace guy who brings energy on both ends of the floor.

1. I'll say Doug Taylor because I think Dartis made his big leap last year and Block is very well rounded and defined already.

2. Since he showed an ability to hit threes last year, I'll go 10ppg.

3. Yes

4. Whoever can play a better PG between Kirk or Butler. My guess is Kirk

5. Kirk, Butler, and Gareri

6. 10

7. Mickle will be a solid second half glue player - I anticipate some bigtime defense and good rebounding from him. Important piece

I don't think he will have the same impact and I won't give Mickle the big time prediction some folks took me to task over pre season with AB but I'm gonna say he will raise a few eyebrows.... And cause a few to say.... Where did we get this guy?

8. What impact do you think Mickle will have?
1) Doug - reasons similar to Lucky Sparrow. He has room to make the biggest jump, particularly offensively. (obvious, I know)
2) 7-8ppg for Laster.
3) No - I'd say second team
4) Butler or Vanden Plas
5) 3 of 4.
6) Based on everyone else's opinions and videos, Butler is the most polished. I'll go with that.
7) More than many will think - IF he's able to knock down that 3-ball.
8) I'm hopeful he'll have a big impact. This is still a fairly young team, so having an older guy that's played a lot of games be a leader on the floor and the locker room would be great.

2. 10ppg, I think Laster gives us something nobody else does and that's his ability to get it to the rim from the perimeter.
3. Yes if we get solid PG play
4. BVP
5. 3, both PGs and BVP
6. Butler
7. 10
8. Non-starter but solid rotation guy

Ok, I’ll take a front stab at it:
1) Dartis for points as he will be the go-to scorer. Block for assists as we will be counting on him to distribute more due to our lack of a seasoned point guard. Doug will improve… How much? No clue.
2) 10 points per game for Laster as he was close to that average over the last 10 games or so.
3) I would say Carter second team… The voters will go with someone more senior.
4) Uh, how about Kirk. He may have a bit of a slow start with Gollon running the point but, as he gets acclimated, he earns more meaningful minutes as the season progresses.
5) What is significant? 10 min? I will go with Kirk, Vander Plas, Butler then Gareri in descending order…
6) To me, this is the big question. Gollon has more D1 experience and familiarity with our playbook than our freshmen. I do think he can score and defend. Can he make others better around him? Will he even need to with this offense? I think we can get away with not having a true point guard if we are dedicated and stick to our system, especially with Block on the floor.
7) Again, I really don’t know, I just will guess 25 to 20 minutes a game… I wish someone with better insight and inside knowledge could tell me whether I am a blathering idiot or, bordering on prescient.
8) Feel way better about Mickle after Borna’s post about his abilities. How about 18 minutes a game and 6 and 6?

My answers:
1. what if the answer is Carter? a lot of times sophomores make a big leap. i understand he was very good, but what if????
2. i'm saying 9.7
3. if my answer to 1 is right - you better believe it...
4. idk
5. Butler/Kirk
6. IDK, could kind of be by committee, but if i was going to guess - i'd pick Butler
7. 8
8. i'm hoping to be very pleasantly surprised and see 10-12 minutes and 6 and 6
