Need the win if we want to hold the 3 spot.

Going to Toledo, we need the W to stay above them if we lose.

Just glancing at their schedule, it looks like EMU has not been great on the road. What scares me is Terry, their leading scorer. He's got that capability to go off and carry a team, and players seem to have career days against us more often than I'd like. If AJ Brown is a no-go, I think EVERY game we play will be a tooth-and-nail fight for a W, regardless of the opponent.

If I'm being completely honest, the Toledo game seems like an almost automatic L. Need to get this one from Eastern.

When we played them earlier in the year they shot lights out from all over: 60% from the floor, 59% from three and 82% from the line. They also outrebounded us by nine, but that's nothing new for this team. We actually forced them into 15 turnovers and they had more fouls than we did. So how did we lose? Absolutely abysmal shooting from deep (26%) and Clayton only scored 3 points in 11 minutes of action.

They're not very deep with five guys averaging 25+ mpg and three averaging over 30, though reaching down the bench has upticked a little in conference play with three other guys averaging 10+. The three 30 minute guys (Nelson, Henry, Terry) make up the bulk of the scoring. Osojnik mostly goes off if he's shooting well from deep and Billingsley is the garbage man in the paint. Other than that they don't have another guy on the roster averaging more than 3ppg.

Depends on the severity of Brown's injury, but it really seems like you should be able to get these guys in foul trouble and force some of their lesser known quantities to step up and score. I don't think you can just run on them (they scored 94 in the first meeting), but make Heath eat into that bench.

Not that I don’t think a win tomorrow its important, but Toledo is in free fall.

Open as 11.5 point favorites, a little lofty considering the AJB injury and our loss to them already this year. Vegas has consistently liked us more than we have all season.

That's a big number, staying away from that especially if Brown is out. I do like the point total, both teams have solid records going over, its now 154.5.

I understand that, but it's still a place where we rarely ever win. Keep in mind the road struggles this team has had this season, also.

One week we beat the snot out of Akron. The next we lose to Western Michigan. Tale of our whole season.

I'm with Vegas on this one, I think we're better than we are - but the injuries are piling up and we haven't played enough young guys to just slot in the next man up.

The good thing about this team is they can get streaky, but we are what our record says we are... 6-7 in the last 13 games. Right after going 8-1. Which team shows up to Cleveland?

Cool 4-17 from the field. Might be worth running a play or two for our leading scorer who has only taken a single shot.

Pavs 5-6 for 12 points; he's the reason we're back in this game.

Excellent defense in the rally from down 15 to tie it up at the half.

Also helpful, 1 EMU starter with 3 fouls, 3 others with 2 fouls.

Someone please tell Marty B. that AJC did not play at Sheridan High School. Making that connection during the first half tonight was not the first time he's made that mistake. AJC played at Philo.

Minor miracle that we are tied at the half after the first 12 minutes. Incredibly impressed with Mitchell's play--could have easily let his shooting woes effect the rest of his game, but instead he dug in with defense and effort plays. Senior leadership on senior night. That stretch run of EMU turnovers had his fingerprints all over it, and, along with Pav's solid offensive play (he's got to lead the MAC in 4-point plays, right?), we're actually in a good position to win this game. Eastern's 3 top scorers are at 3-2-2 in fouls. Go at 'em!

Someone please tell Marty to stop saying every game that any of the 8 teams that qualify for Cleveland can win the MAC Tournament.

Stop.

This isn’t the SEC.

+1

Let’s get Terry his 3rd foul early second half.

I’ve said this many times this year… I just do not understand our defensive philosophy. We have everybody with feet in the lane and leave wide open three point shooters. Makes no sense to me. Give them two stop the three.

Our lack of size/athleticism from our guards is on some display. They have no hesitation taking our guys off the dribble or for pull up twos.

Don’t really care who wins. Just don’t want more injuries before tournament time.

I would trade our players for their players any day. They would be a nightmare for us in the tournament.

If we lose to Toledo and Eastern beats Kent does Eastern jump us? Could we end up 6 or 7?
