Look at Butlers production when he gets min . He also defends better than the others butt I forgot we don’t play defense . Butler also is hitting his shots. U are crazy and don’t know basketball if u honestly feel that he should be watching guards play 15 -20 min more than he’s getting and shoot more in one game than he does in 3 games . U are crazy

So, how's upstate South Carolina right now? Sunny and warm I hope.

Is it "U", or "you"?

"Butt" or "but"?

Sorry to play grammar police, but "you" have ranted on about the same points in this thread several times. We all get that you would like Zach to play more. I'm not against it. In fact, I believe I pointed out that I think he could handle playing the 3 in a way similar to what Mike is if he added some weight/strength over the summer (like nearly every college player does between years 1 and 2).

I live in Atlanta Ga and I speak the damn truth Einstein . I know basketball and I know what scouts look for in a player . Now if u ask anybody that knows the game they will give some truth of what I’ve said .

truth = opinion

That being said opinions are what these boards are all about. And differing opinions are what make the boards interesting. I tend to agree with you in some areas and think that the team needs someone with Butler's skillset to reach it's potential. But you might want to take a step back on threatening transferring or talking NBA. You are bordering on Lavar Ball territory IMO (or should I say IMT?). From the reports I received from some sources I respect he struggled mightily early on in practice and only recently started to reach a comfort level. I think that information pretty much tracks with what I have seen on the court. But you might want to take your foot off the gas a little. We are all rooting for him to succeed. Maybe you can have a private PM war with Teyvion Kirk's relatives when they show up and threaten a transfer if he doesn't get to start at all five positions. Outside of that, welcome to the board. Would love to hear your opinions on other aspects of the program. We've had other posters who had close relationships with players, current and past, and they are some of boards most interesting people.

Thanks for the kind words. I've never been called Einstein before. ;)

First of all Block isn’t a guard , Butler is a guard . Block is playing well but we will be playing too slow with him at the guard position over an athletic guard that’s quicker and more dynamic. Block is a small forward.
I never said Block was a guard, but focusing on guard vs small forward in the modern basketball we are playing is pointless.

This isn't 1995. The players on our roster are all extremely versatile. Gavin Block plays primarily on the perimeter just like Butler does. Butler is definitely more explosive than Block while Block has more size. Both have the ball skills necessary to play on the perimeter which is the key. Kirk, Butler, Block, Dartis and Gollon are all primarily perimeter players and they are all on this roster next year. The following year, with Dartis and Block graduated, both Kirk and Butler will see an extreme increase in minutes.

It's very funny to me how many people want to say "Block is a Small Forward." Block has played in the post for us, he has played on the wing for us and he has even brought the ball up the court for us.

LeBron James is the best basketball player in the NBA. He is listed as a Small Forward. He is capable of defending PG's and Centers alike at a level few players in history have ever been able to do.

Versatility is trend at both the college and the pro level. Our offense under Saul capitalizes on guys who can do more than one thing.

First of all Kirk has never been the topic of the conversation, TK has played his ass off . The conversation has been about opportunities. Nobody never said that Dartis , Block , or Lassiter has played poorly either .

Who is this Lassiter player you're referring to?

Is it this guy?

Family member or not, I still maintain if you call for more playing time for a player, you have to pair that with who those minutes should be taken from. And in this particular case, consider the 2 players currently missing that will be back and gobbling up minutes.

I do agree that once healthy, Saul has the tools to go 9 deep and he should. It is better to keep guys fresh not to mention build experience for young guys who will have to shoulder the load in future years.

whatever.

The last 3 possessions ZERO has gone down and shot the ball early in the shot clock with no success and with no look to pass... If he becomes a bit more of a facilitator be may find his shots come a lot easier.

EDIT Looked at this the entire game. On a team where the extra pass seems to be the preferred action and guys who SHOULD be shooting pass up too many shots Z stands out when the first thought seems to be less, team, and more shoot.
