Nice offensive display, with Saul having an opportunity to vary his offensive sets even with a small number of players. At times he played 4 guards with both point guards. Played only 7 men with Mickle still out, then down to 6 when Gollon came out, hopefully nothing serious.

Kirk- smart move low posting him at times. He’s so smooth around the hoop. Also nailed his 1st two 3’s he took, something we’ve been looking to see.

Butler- nice to see the other frosh point finally get good minutes (20) and show some of his offensive skills (4 for 4 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line).

Taylor- played strong and smart

Dartis-can-t wait til he starts to really light it up.

Block- a workhorse, does a little bit of everything (6 assists, 9 boards) but needs to reign in the NBA 3’s

Lasher- a slasher with a soft finishing touch

Gollon- showed some nice moves from the lane and the baseline.

5’5” Junior Robinson- fun to watch, team player, not just a scorer.

Much appreciation for those who do work over the holidays. Easy to imagine staffing would be extra-complicated with students gone and many non-student employees wanting time-off to be with families.

A look into the future: Wilson makes a basketball with a Bluetooth-chip embedded inside: Connect bluetooth-enabled camera and write some code telling it to move back and forth following the movement of the ball. Nice!

Two interesting applications in other sports I've heard about recently:
-In soccer they have a BT ball which they are using for goal-line technology (did the ball go completely across the line for a goal?)
Goal-line technology used to involve a camera on the goal but the embedded ball is being rolled out in some leagues.
-NFL now has RFID in all players shoulder pads allowing them to measure movement on the field. Pretty crazy how many applications this could have when you start thinking about measuring guys 40 times or measuring which guys hit the hardest.

He is noticeably bigger. Saul has talked about strength of his weight-lifting program. Excited to see how a guy like Kirk benefits similar to how Gollon has.
