Ted's dream tourney. Hope we get to see Ohio vs Dayton to blow Ted's mind.
I would be OK if my two alma maters never played each other. But I am going to be there to watch just in case.
Just read that we haven't played Dayton since 1965. That's hard to believe.

Wow Don May was a frosh IIRC...not even playing yet. The Flyers of my youth. We need to get past that first round and make that happen again. We were on the way down from 64 and they were on the way up to 67. Time to take advantage of the new coach and roster changes.

I don't think I ate a less than stellar meal in the two weeks I spent in Charleston last fall. My wallet had smoke emanating from it afterwards, but everything was incredible.
Amen. Charleston in SC and Asheville in NC - two dining meccas. If we only had one of these or something close in Athens:

I have no expectations ahead of time for this classic. It will give our young guys a challenge they will learn from and Laster, Block, Dartis and Doug will learn to be leaders. I am more worried about Western Kentucky than Clemson.

Clemson is a critical game. If we win, our confidence level will be high and it would be seen as a quality win. We have a pretty experienced team outside of the pg position. If we can gel early, this is a game that we can win. Go Cats.

So I presume we'll have a couple home games before this tournament? Including an exhibition.

Love the field in this tournament. We have a great chance to pick up some solid Ws and get some quality mins for the freshman.

Yes would be great. Likely helped if the metro populations were in the same universe:

Metro Asheville 425K
Metro Chastown 665K
Metro Athens - somewhere around 30K......

My wallet is very cool and happy every time I walk out of Miller's Poultry - The Carolina's got nuthin' on Miller's.....(and I got a bagful to re-heat in the oven when I get back to Cbus - a day's drive less than the swamps and Charlotte traffic jams)

Was just in Ashville - Great CITY. Athens is a Great TOWN.....

Flights booked. Indy cheaper than Dayton so we will fly out of Indy. Dayton closer but oh well. Using miles to book flights and car. Should be a good week. Tommy's BDay is Nov 19 so we'll get together for a birthday dinner.

Officially have tickets for the tournament now. Kudos to my brother in law who is a C of C alum and has contacts. Can't wait for this one. That first day will be a big one for our family of Bobcats and Flyers fans.

I was planning to go to this, but I'll be in Athens instead. Little Fish is tapping my wife's beer that Friday (she won Brewer's Choice at Ohio Brew Week). So here's a shameless plug for anyone in town that weekend:

Any chance that beer makes it all the way around to the following Friday? :)

They brewed 10 barrels, and an oddball brew like sahti may or may not be a brisk seller (even though this one is delicious). I'd venture to guess it'll be on tap well over a week.

I'm thinking it would be a great thing to come by and try on that Mount St. Marys gameday. Assuming Little Fish is open that afternoon.

For anyone still considering this, I spoke to the C of C ticket office today. GA tickets on the baselines and upper level are still available. $22 and up per session.

May have another contender in this tournament now after seeing Indiana State just crush IU.

Crap. This is going to a long weekend in Charleston...

There are worse places to have a long weekend.

(I stole Brian and Andrew's thoughts from the "Jason Carter" thread. My reply seemed more appropriate here)

Speaking of which, who all plans to make the trip? I'm hoping to make it to one of the pre-game bashes at Sticky Fingers. Family lives in the area, so we're there for the whole week starting tomorrow.

When you have free time, I'd strongly encourage a trip out to one of the nearby barrier islands - Folly, Sullivans, Isle of Palms. Also the plantations are worth checking out. Oddly, I've never been out to Fort Sumter, but it's supposed to be great for the history buff.

Also, Patriot's Point for the carrier and sub to visit for the history buff's.

Sumpter was pretty good for my young uns to learn history.

Enjoyed the boat out and back.

Looking forward to getting down, AirBnB all set. Getting in Thurs at noon so we will be checking in and gettig down to the 5 pm game. Let us know on pregames. Day off saturday should give time to hang out if you have a place to be. Going to hit Old Towne Grill for lunch one day and to pick up my Greek Spices

First game is done with Auburn completely outplaying Indiana State (who just took out Indiana last week) 83-64. Auburn was very aggressive and athletic but it looked like Indiana State wasn't ready to play. Sycamores played very passive on defense and Auburn made them pay.

So it's Clemson and Temple in the championship game tomorrow. Both had double-digit wins, with Temple beating Auburn 88-74, and Clemson beating Hofstra, 78-59.

Third-place game: Hofstra vs. Auburn
Fifth-place game: Dayton vs. Old Dominion
Seventh-place game: Ohio vs. Indiana State

I was REALLY hoping that game wouldn't have happened. But it worked out well for our family, so I guess there's that. I'm glad that our Cats played a better game Sunday than Dayton. I didn't see that one coming for UD.
