The Hilltoppers just might be the best team to visit the Convo in the last few years. It will be interesting to see if our kids will come out with great energy and be able to put the recent terrible shooting behind them. We will be matched up with a very athletic team. Hopefully JC and Mickle will be able to play through their injuries. It looks like we may be without Dartis as he is the most recent Bobcat to have his own foot boot. I hope we are getting bulk pricing on this medical equipment. Very tough game Sunday, then a return trip to Huntington to play a red hot Thundering Herd team.

I saw on ESPN's site that Marshall beat CCR (?) by quite a bit. John Foghety must not have been dressed out that night. Green River is still a great song though, even if CCR sucks at playing basketball.

Morning! Happy Game Day folks.

Coming to OU for the first time to see to the Toppers play your 'cats.

Any suggestions on parking for the game, places to eat, etc are appreciated. Have the students completed finals?

Looking forward to hearing Stand Up and Cheer throughout... maybe I'll feel like at home in Diddle.

Thanks

Jackie O’s is within walking distance of the convo/parking. Rated as one of the best breweries in the country the brewpub also has good food. Casa Nueva is also one of my favorite resteraunts, but do not expect traditional Mexican food. It is just Mexican “inspired” and that seems to confuse people.

You will Love Athens. I say Jackie O's for sure. Park down at the Convo (Basketball Arena) and walk up the hill to Jackie O's. Easy walk and only 5 minutes.

I don't know what's in the water these days in Athens but student support the last couple of years has gone from the best in the MAC to bottom tier. It's a first in my time as a Bobcat. Many think it has to do with the availability of the games on TV.

Anyway...enjoy your visit.

We are still at the top of the MAC but not anywhere what we have had in the past. But we are most definitely not in the bottom tier of the MAC.

I don't get it either. Certainly not what it used to be. And this is one of the best sports marketing schools in the country.

With finals starting tomorrow, the NFL this afternoon, the chilly weather and the number of "Christmas Halloweeners" on Court Street last night, I'm not expecting much of a crowd today either. We would have had a much bigger crowd yesterday. Oh well, headed out to the Convo in a few.

One thing is constant on BA: Jeff's weather predictions; BTC's references to shuttles; and Alan talking about attendance.

1:16 left, up 5. Take the full 35 unless you get a sure shot, and play defense and make them foul us.Believe and be relentless.

Good win, Teyvion cannot foul twice in the last minute when we have the lead. I am glad that we pulled it out.

Were you at the game? If you were you'd know that there is no way in heck that Western would let us take the full 35. We were lucky to get 10 with their swarming D.

Also, it's just 30 not 35. Has been since 15-16.

I kind of chuckled. That little clock on the top of the basket starts at 30 for a couple of seasons now ....for those at the game....

I'm hoping this is a confidence-building win. The real key is if we can parlay this into a W at Marshall. Do that, and I think this team is heading in the right direction. Should have 2 "gimmes" before the start of MAC play after that.

Just watched the replay as I was not able to watch it live.

I think this game gives us a pretty good glimpse of what this team can be. Impressive win considering we were without Dartis and Carter is still working his way back. I like the 9 man rotation that we will have when Dartis is back.

The WKU "swarming D" was what impressed me most about them today - They were as aggressive on the ball D as you will ever see. And why I did not think this game was over until the last couple seconds.....

Believe that we can win. the medi's were predicting three slaughters. I was not at the game, I followed the play by play. We made some stupid fouls down the stretch, but we pulled the game out. Allen said we should win two out of three, the medi's said that if the Cat's showed up and Saul smiled, that would be enough to satisfy them. Let's beat Marshall and win two out of this current three game stretch. Medi's beat your chest, get your Saul dolls out and celebrate we won. Let's go cat's. These cat's can do anything that they put their mind too.

Some of the fouls late that were called were cheapies. Guys just showing a hand and the refs gave the WKU players, who were clearly just trying to do anything (somewhat out of control) the benefit of the doubt and put them on the line. The refs had a weird game. They let the boys play for the most part, but then there were some questionable things like the Bearden/Laster techs. Really would like to know what was said by both of those guys.
