Yes it’s early for RPI’s, but right now the top 5 teams are ranked 20,32,60,70, and 105. Headed by Ball State, 7-0 with wins against Big East Butler and away wins against SEC Vandy, and Big 10 Purdue. They may be unbeaten heading into conference play. Buff is 5-1, CMU 6-1, Toledo 6-1, NIU 6-2 and Kent 6-3. Ohio (4-3) is struggling of late, still trying to mesh with their 6 frosh.

One of these years the MAC Women are going to get multiple bids. The wins the league is picking up and the strength of the personnel is something else. Almost seems to me a niche sport the MAC should fully embrace.

Ball State's win over Vandy doesn't mean all that much. The VU women's program is struggling to adjust to an entirely different style of basketball under former WNBA player/coach Stephanie White than under the structured style under former Xavier (and now former Vandy) coach Melanie Balcomb. When the light bulb goes on and they start playing the WNBA style decently as coach White is shooting for, at that point a win over the VU ladies will mean something. Right now, not so much.
