Saw this when I got up. Looking at the highlights, it looked like Persons was feeling it. That was a dagger of a game winner.

It may be another 32 years before ND wants to play BSU again.

That's why they don't want to play games against the MAC. They spend up to 5X our budget and should win every game, but the reality is they can get beat. They have nothing to gain. That's why there should be a scheduling mandate with all the money that's at stake.

I'm with you on the scheduling mandate. I learned something interesting last night while watching VCU host Texas and Shaka Smart. VCU has written into their contracts that if/when a coach leaves, they're required to play a home and home with the new school vs VCU. A genius contract clause that every mid-major contract should include.

I'd just like to see the NCAA, and it's Selection Committee establish rules requiring a minimum of 3 non-conference road games. That solves all the problems and forces the "big boys" out of their own barn once in awhile. And no matter what some say, lots and lots of fans want this.

It's only going to get worse with conferences like the Big Ten expanding their in-conference schedule to ensure that everyone plays each other twice in the regular season. I think the MAC needs to follow suit with that, honestly. Cuts out some scheduling issues when it comes to us trying to find the Kennesaw States and Northwestern Ohios of the world, right?

I was speaking to a coach at Duquesne and he said that the Atlantic 10 had a rule that said schools must play a minimum number of non-conf home games. I looked at their schedule and they have 14 of those games. 11 were at home, one against Pitt at a neutral site and 2 in a Vegas tourney. He said they consider the A10 a 3 or 4 bid league and think padding the records with home games elevates the league. There is a game within the game.

DD talked to Coach Whit today on the show. Interesting thoughts on scheduling. Good interview https://omny.fm/shows/the-dan-dakich-show/ball-state-knoc...

In the thread about the Loyola win, Alan shared the below article, where the MVC is discussing expansion from 10 to more teams and a 20 game conference schedule. Maybe it is time, but as a fan, I don't like the idea of more conference games to be honest. 18 is plenty for me.

Interesting article on the "fall" in status of the MVC.

Persons, whose 3 beat ND earlier in the week, does it again against an in-state foe.

Down 2 v. Valpo, Persons hits a straight-away 3 with 3 seconds left for the win.
