They used to always have the webcast for the exhibition game right? What happened?
I was sort of thinking that this came up every year because we didn't have media for the exhibition game.
I can't recall the last time this game was on the regular over the air radio. In fact, I think I talked with someone about this and the reasoning is simple - radio network affiliates sign up for X-number of games, and this isn't in the deal. I think.
For anyone that'll be there, see ya there.
Now, if I were to comment about something, I'll complain that the university schedules Dad's weekend on an exhibition game weekend instead of when there's an actual game to go to. (any game - not just basketball)
I know, I know, there's some reason someone will cite saying we're an academic institution and this fits the academic calendar. While that's true, and all good and fine, there's not one good reason that something couldn't be arranged so that there's a real game on Dad's weekend. Instead, the beneficiary of this will be club hockey, who will probably have a sold out house two nights in a row.
Simply put, in my opinion, it is a missed opportunity to pack the house with Dad's for a game that could truly matter, and make an impression on them because it's a big game with a better atmosphere. And you never know, they might end up buying season tickets as a result.
