It definitely hurts the non P5 teams. But if a kid graduates, I think it's proper. Some blame should be on the coach who redshirts players. The coaches have too much power and the players should have more.

What are your thoughts about the player who red-shirts for an injury?

Or one who redshirts for a transfer in the first place?

I'm for kids being able to move if they think someplace else is better for them. Can a coach leave and immediately coach somewhere else the next year? Yes.

Coaches rarely if ever pay the buyout (maybe Geno). The institution to which they are headed pick that up.

And at the end of the day, isn't the goal of college to graduate. Once you do, you're a free agent.
