Anyone else think it was odd that only two bench players played during a second half blowout at home?
No blowout. With under 6 minutes to go we were only up 7 and then they got that phantom T. Anyone sitting down close to the PV bench know what exactly the coach said? Regardless, agressive shot selection from the perimeter will put this team in the top 4. If not, we might be in a tad of trouble.

Coach slammed his fist against scorers' table. Loud and demonstrative. Might have been warranted but left the refs with no choice but to T him up.

but that was one of the best displays of home cooking I've seen in quite some time.
That's interesting you say that. I didn't think much about the calls either way but do remember two block vs charge calls that seemed questionable to me that went against Ohio. (I believe both involved PV #11) And TK seemed to get called for a foul when PVAMU #3 pretty much tripped backwards. It was like the ref was caught off guard, blew the whistle and had to call something. O well. I wish I could watch them again to see if I really saw what I thought I did or not.

Game yesterday was really messy. Bad crowd, unexciting/disjointed play, and somehow a 19 point win wasn't very satisfying. It was a lot closer game than the score indicated. I think the injuries are making it tough on the guys playing extra minutes, and even some of those (JD) are nursing injuries themselves. Great to see Gollon do good though. Hope Mike heals quick, and at least one of Ben/AJ can play soon. I am guessing the right thing to do with Jason is to let him heal a year, even though it will make it tough on the rest of the guys. Ohio BB sure seems to have the injury bug lately.

And just like last time Kevin got hurt, yesterday he seemed to have a knee issue on a play, strangely not get taken out, then when he went for that big dunk I think he aggravated it again and then subbed out. Hopefully it won't be anything major. But that dunk was sweet.

Alan, I actually thought the music was really dull last night and it just fit well with the blah atmosphere. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Stream of consciousness from Squared.
Very conscious stream

Bigs on bench at half - not unusual at all - ya need to mull around on the court to get ready for a swat, RB, or Dunk? (well - maybe he should follow MacDonald on the rotation and warm up for putting back missed dunks...)

The older dude in the Ozone section was Great - I'm thinking he hit Court Street for a bit before the game.

Ben I think it was more a matter of what wasn't played and the fact that there was no conflict between "is the band going to play or is recorded music going to play" than what was played. I'm a Christmas guy so I liked the Christmas music but you're right, the whole atmosphere was like standing on the mezzanine of a downtown Akron department story two days before Christmas with everyone just looking around and nothing really happening.

And speaking of happening, anyone have any idea why the police cuffed the guy on the concourse leading up to the Convo right before tip off? Four or five officers and one guy getting cuffed.

I've seen (and called) a few dunks in my broadcasting career, gotta tell you that was right up there with the ones I've seen. James Gollon called Mickle a "specimen" on the radio post game....lol

And don't forget about the K9 dog (is that redundant?) assisting the four officers. I overheard one of the officers ask the young man where his dad was.

Loved the way you called the game. I was there and as usual had my radio and earphone with me. I listened as I watched the game. Excellent job, Marty!
