For what it's worth, Kent has only had one guy start all 16 games and 1 started 14 and 1 started 12. For those in NE Ohio, have they had injuries or are their pieces that interchangeable?

According to their message board it sounds like a lot of inconsistent play. So, similar to us without the injuries.

Newark fans (not at the Jimmy Allen Gym for a home Wildcat game) will be tuned in to CBSSN Friday night as Jordan Dartis goes up against BJ Duling. Although only 2 years apart, the two never played together as Duling transferred in from New Albany for his final two years of high school basketball.

One of these teams will fall to 1-3 in the MAC. Ouch.

If anyone is plannning on Making the trip up for this game be careful. The current forecast is calling for freezing rain and sleet starting about 2 PM Friday, turning into snow in the evening and continuing over night.

Strong information, Eagle66. Real Jeff McKinney is getting nervous just seeing this forecast and I don't even know if he plans to go to Kent on Friday. He's got a bunch of white knuckler stories -- the best is told by Ruth Ann Freeman, Tommy's awesome grandmother, about the crazy post game snow drifts coming out of Muncie back toward I-70 and the road closing accident ahead of them.

I am grateful to have experienced Jeff's nervousness while I drove us back from Kent after a hard fought win. It was near that corridor along I-71 running northeast/southwest close to Wooster where the weather and road conditions change fast. We noticed the tractor trailers were going around 20 MPH and we slowed way down. Sure enough, within a mile there were vehicles in ditches everywhere. Jeff was nervous until we passed US 42/US 36.

Almost always a tough game to win at Kent State. Let's steal one on the road, Bobcats.

Kent will get 8 to 10 inches of snow starting at about 2:30 Friday afternoon. Glad this is a TV game. Jackson County will be a lot safer place for our dear friend Jeff to stand for defense.

Can't believe that Miami's program is even on the same level of OHIO right now, or arguably, even better. It's a complete embarrassment.

Three games in is a bit too early to say. Let's revisit this in a month and see where things stand.

Be careful what you ask for. This might not end well

To show the dominance of the big three (Kent State, Akron and Ohio) I went back and looked it up. Since Akron joined the MAC, only once have those three teams been at the bottom of the standings in the East Division simultaneously.

John Groce's first year at Ohio in the 2008-09 season, although Miami was tied with Kent State and Akron, with Akron winning the MAC Tournament. Good Lord was the West Division bad that year. Ohio would have tied for the West Division lead.

Bowling Green: 11-5
Buffalo: 11-5
Miami: 10-6
Akron: 10-6
Kent State: 10-6
Ohio: 7-9

Ball State: 7-9
Central Michigan: 7-9
Western Michigan: 7-9
Eastern Michigan: 6-10
Northern Illinois: 5-11
Toledo:: 5-11

You're right, it might not. Or...it might.

Also, at least some credit has to be given to what is being done at Miami. They're no longer terrible like they were 2-3 years ago.

Now, for talk about the two teams playing tomorrow night:

My opinon of Three Simple keys:

*Contain Walker - keep him out of the paint as much as possible. He's only a 30% outside shooter.

*Keep De La Rosa from completely dominating the paint. DT needs to have a big game on D, and on the glass.

*Avoid bad possessions in succession like we've seen from Ohio in the two losses. Move the ball, and get it to the guys that are 'hot'. As GoCats noted to me, Dartis got hot in 2H Tuesday, and they quit getting him the ball.

While it goes against the "share the ball" approach Saul seems to prefer, I feel like maybe it's time to adjust and have a higher percentage go through Laster, and Dartis - as in, those two guys need to be getting 12+ attempts a game each.

Probably the most vicious O Zone I've ever been a part of that day in terms of dirt sheet material.

Our assistant coach Cameron Joyce was on that team it appears. Not sure if he was actually there that day, though.

I think I remember this one and was there. This is the "DUI" chant game directed at Chris Singleton, right?

Thanks for sharing. Nice memory. One thing that I noticed when they did a crowd shot is that we actually had an Ozone back then. I guess it's time to say RIP Ozone. Maybe bring back the CrazyCats.

Back when folks did more than sit in their rooms playing video games and looking at facebook/twitter/instagram.

And, get off my lawn as well.

Crazy Cats seems like a better name for the group too. Implies what behavior might occur in said section.

Very nice piece that showed the whole story of the game. Remember that game well. Very physical on both ends of the floor.
