Well if there was any game to break out of a shooting slump, hopefully it's this one. Gotta make the open shots to extend that zone and open up the middle of the floor. Mike and Teyvion should be able to break it down further after that. Can't beat a zone with dribbling though, especially against a team with this kind of length.

Eagles are 10-1 at home, the only loss coming to BG in OT. Weirdly they've played Oakland twice this season and went 1-1. But they've had their share of head scratchers, including a loss to North Florida

Over-under on techs given to JT4?

We have to extend their zone with great ball movement (crisp passes) and good shooting. Hopefully their zone does not frustrate Kirk.

EMU, of late, always reminds me of the antithesis of the quote "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." So much size, length, talent, yet always underachieves as a team. Usually a frontline of 6-10, 6-9 and 6-9 with a 6-7 wing and I believe quality players, yet never a top MAC team. Will be interesting to see how Ohio's struggling offense manages against the Syracuse zone.

There is no way I can conceivably see us winning this game. We will not be able to handle Thompson inside for the whole game. Doug may be able to bang with him but Gareri and Mickle aren't 5's who are built to bang. Then you throw in Minnie and Bond to go with a nice guard in Jackson. Those 4 alone are better than anyone we have this side of Laster. I hope Teyvion will not try to dribble past everyone in the zone and find himself in no man's land and of course, which outside shooters will show up? I hate going into games feeling like we can't win but that's the way this team has made me feel after 17 games. 1-5 in the MAC will not sit well with me for sure, considering we will at least split with the rest of the East (Akron, BG, Buffalo, Miami) giving us at best a 9-9 record! AT BEST!

Speaking of "great ball movement (crisp passes)..." Last night I had the pleasure of watching St. Mary's and Gonzaga go at it. St. Mary's topped Gonzaga on the Zags' home court before a sellout crowd.

The things about St. Mary's that impressed me most:
* On offense all 5 players seemed to be in continuous motion.
* Their passing was crisp and accurate.

The "icing" was a close game that went down to the last ticks.

They lost to NIU, which Ohio beat. And lost to Ball State by more than Ohio did. It's all about matchups, but Ohio can win this game. It's the MAC, let's not act like EMU is some team that's notches above everyone else.

I know we lost to them at home last year, bUT for the most part we have carved up their zone the last couple of years by getting many layups and 12 foot jumpers in the lane. I agree that a major key is Kirk having a facilitator mentality rather than trying to take it to the bucket every time.

Listened to post game and watched the presser. Did not see or hear anything even approaching funny. Maybe I missed it.

The expectation, based on our current play, is a loss.
Watch.....we somehow win this one and we then know that we can't figure this team out.
With 13 games left, our best player out, and 2 returning players regressing from last year, we will be lucky to end the season with a .500 record.
Obviously another 20 or so point loss will only continue to fuel the discussion around Saul loosing this team.

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get back up." - Vince Lombardi

It is time for this team to play "mad." Toledo showed no mercy to the 'Cats and gave them the beat down of the Century. Injured or not, this team needs to develop a killer instinct and take their frustrations out on everyone the rest of way. They are Bobcats not domesticated kitty cats. I am tired of Saul's cerebral pondering. It is time to start pushing some buttons and generating some emotions. Everyone can wait until after the season is over to go to therapy! GRRRRRR!!!

Good win. Got sloppy at the end, but Zach B with a great hustle play after a missed free throw with a block. I'll take it.

Today

Those hips and the soft tissue around them are day to day. Right mix of rest, meaningful practice, shooting drills and reps, ice, NSAID and luck. Throw in a dose of grit and toughness to get through
