this team looks like the 1998 team maybe worse. if they didn't win another game this season it would not be a shock too anyone. new coach up tempo system and more ballsy recruiting effort needed asap.

Interesting comparison. Both Diante and Corey Reed were hurt off and on that year and we started an injured Chet Feldman against KY. Latrell and Stonework were both sitting out their transfer year. One difference was what was coming in the next year - Patrick Flomo and Jason Crawford.

Cory went down in maybe the first 3 games and was out for the year. That team was not very good but they played very hard. The 3OT game v Central is an all-time favorite

It is an interesting comparison. One could call Jason Crawford a "miss" in recruiting. And with Flomo, we have a player one could argue "underachieved" in some cases, yet in the rearview mirror, everyone loves him because he blocked shots, dunked, and was extremely popular. The guys that made the next 2 years happen after that year were Stonerook and Adell. Whitehead was awesome for that one year, but I forget, what happened to him after that one year?

So do you still think we need to leave the MAC for a tougher conference?

If I recall, Flomo only played a year or two at Groveport before we got him. As far as underachieving 222 blocks and still playing pro ball overseas is hardly underachieving. We haven't had a defensive inside presence since he graduated.

Don't get me wrong, I always really enjoyed watching him play, and I agree that his presence in the paint was tremendous. I didn't know he was still playing, which is really impressive! I guess I'm using him as an example to show how other here nitpick about current players. His offensive game was rather limited. He didn't rebound all that great for his size, and regressed statistically as a senior.

He may have but look at this roster his senior year. Also look at the first 8 games listed. Now that's a non-conference schedule. And take a look at those Saturday afternoon home crowds.

I remember those years well. They were a lot of fun. I'd argue that roster, outside of Brandon, while good, wasn't *that* outstanding because it lacked the PG that Timmy always needed for that group.

Ooooh, Chet Feldman, the King of Ping. Dude was a 2-sport athlete who was a novice at all and definitely not a master of anything.

The thing is..I actually did like Feldman. My comment is tongue in cheek but anyone who can play both sports is worth commenting on.

And when a transfer from our program eliminates us from the MAC tournament again, I'll call for the head coach to be removed.

But no sooner.
