Congrats for getting fans out of their seats tonight! And how about Gollon ? Bobcats officially have depth to practice and rest the starters. Sweet revenge to John Groce who left Ohio for big bucks in Illinois.
Welcome back to Athens!

Christ, are people still mad about him leaving? If someone offered you triple your salary to do the same job for a more established company, you would do it.

Congrats Jordan. That was a Marcus Keene-type of performance.

Congrats Dartis. Good to see the bench as he sat down next to Tommy. Both all smiles. Tommy told me 2 years ago all those records are going to be out of reach when Jordan is done. Enjoying the smiles.

BTW....nothing against John who is still a close friend but I still have that slogan...."rooting for Akron is like rooting for the Taliban" someone put up there many years ago in my head anytime Ally or John are around. Can't help it. Just can't get it out of my head....almost as bad as rooting for Chris. Growing up amidst all those sheep following blindly with no connections makes it hard to root for tO$U. Friends who played womens hoops in the 70s, swam, ran for the Buckeyes understand my frustration and feel a bit as well with all the Wal Mart alums wanting to fight when you say something about their beloved scarlet and gray.

Congratulations Jordy! Way to stroke them 3’s. Nice contribution from the rest of the team as the ball moved well. A big win needed in the convo. Go Bobcats!

Mad at him for leaving to Illinois? Never in a million years. Perturbed that he chose Akron after that? A bit.

I don't think he chose, unless be an assistant somewhere was an option.

That show by Dartis was just incredible. He just took the team on his shoulders and will us to win.

In addition to Dartis' fine work, I was impressed with Gollon. He was hustling all over the place, and made a lot of good decisions and good shots. About my favorite play of the game was one when Dartis starts to drive toward the basket, draws defenders, and then dishes the ball out to Gollon for a three. This team has very good chemistry. They play together and do not seem to have any major internal conflicts. Let me not forget the fine play of Taylor. He was a blocking demon tonight and got key rebounds. I hope we can take the momentum tonight and go on a little winning streak. Go OHIO!

Archie and he were acquainted from NC State when John was an asst coach with Sean Miller while Archie played PG under Coach Sendeck. Sean came to X under Thad and John

After recruiting several IN kids to X including Dedrick Finn and Justin Cage, he then recruited DeShawn Thomas, Walter Offut, Mark Titus, Greg Oden and Mike Conley out of Indiana. All Indiana All Stars that IU was trying to get at a time when tO$U was not exactly a school recruits were looking at following O'Brien's reign. Many insiders here in IN assumed he was a lock for the yet to be named IU staff hoping he could resume his recruiting resume and keeping kids home while waiting for the right job...

Pretty sure Groce took some prospects with him leaving the shelf empty....and to coach for a rival MAC team makes this a good rivalry hopefully for years.

He was recruiting one guy off the top of my head, Maverick Morgan, to come to Ohio and then he ended up at Illinois. But I wouldn't count that as "taking prospects."

There could have been another, I'm not sure.

But he did not take Caris much to Caris' dismay. He did not take Bradds. He respected Ohio and did not go after them as many coaches do.... Hurley comes to mind immediately but there are a ton of others.

We have football coach that is happy to be in Athens making less $$$. (Tough to keep rising star coaches on a MAC campus due to opportunity and cash)

Yes, it was good to see Dartis pass off the ball to Gollon beyond the ARC for a tres. This team is making progress and can be a factor next year in The MAC and big dance in March 2019.
