I know, I know. Excuses, excuses. But does anyone have any updates on Butler, Dartis, or Laster after last night? Is a group rate at O'Bleness in play for Bobcat athletics yet?

Arkley commented that Laster's shoulder popped out, but got it back in. He ended up coming back in the game. Same shoulder that's been bothering him and keeps popping out.

No updates on Butler (shoulder, in a sling) or Dartis (hip, on crutches).

Can you imagine finishing the year with only Kirk, Mickle, Doug, Gollon, Gareri and Block able to play? Looks like Laster is gutting it out. I could see Dartis and Butler sitting the rest of the year.

3-15 here we come.

I'd imagine they'll address this on the coaches show tonight. I can't remember ever seeing anything like this in college basketball. It's crazy.

And from what we've heard Block and Mickle have also been playing with injuries at some point.

It's like that scene at the end of Space Jam where MJ has to pick a 5th guy and all the Looney Tunes are injured. Tweety Bird in the iron lung kills me.

I really thought Foghorn Leghorn was fouled when he got injured. Same with Tweety

There were definitely some questionable calls toward the end. Surprised they didn't go to the monitor to review.

If Block is injured maybe some of the cause it trying to take 20 charges per game? Are the coaches not seeing this? Just play some straight up defense. There is no glory in getting banged around like that.

Pretty sure that's not how competitive basketball works. What's he supposed to do? Just ole the guy right past him to the basket like a matador? He's trying to make plays to prevent guys from scoring.

Well..we are the only college basketball team that has Jesus on the roster. Even though he cut his hair, I’m hoping Jesus can heal his teammates, foul less and make a layup.

Competitive basketball also requires putting 5, somewhat healthy, players on the floor which we don't currently have. Anyway whatever. #14months

I'm pretty sure Block's injury is the least problematic of any of the injuries. As I understand, it's just a pelvic bruise. I'm sure it hurts. I'm sure it can affect him as a player. But it's also something he will be over soon, if he's not already.

Is there no basketball weight program to build the guys up? Look at the Bobcat's football offensive line. They looked like an NFL line pushing UAB up and down the field in the Bahamas Bowl. Can't Saul borrow the strength and conditioning coach from Solich now and then in the off season?

How about some food and a few trips to the weight room when they get here.

You're comparing 300 lb offensive linemen to basketball players.

Also, just a fun little tidbit: that McMurray kid which everyone is so worried about broke a backboard after a dunk this season. Not the glass, like the backboard came off the support hanging from the wall.

Not only offensive linemen, but veteran offensive linemen.

Sheesh...

Bookmark my post if you want. Please do.

The two guys in those pictures would get bent into pretzels in the Big 12 or SEC which they would only be able to participate in as walk-ons. You think this season is a bummer? Wait and see what happens if Saul keeps recruiting at the current level.

Off the record, what do you think the potential is of the kid from North Carolina that was offered by Chowban (?), Hampton, and Boston U. ?? Is he athletic enough to be a game changer? How does he compare to Ohio post players of past years such as Brandon Hunter?

A few weeks ago we were comparing him to Flomo and Wadley. Now he's supposed to be compared to Brandon Hunter? Huh?
