We used to do this, and a discussion of non-MAC games, on and off here. I figured it made sense to at least talk about the rest of the MAC on a more regular basis.

Tonight in Kalamazoo, UB visits Western. Should be interesting to see if UB can remain undefeated in conference. TV - ESPNU 7pm

Tomorrow:

3:30
Ball St visits Oxford
CMU visits BG
4:30
Niu at Akron
7pm
Kent at Toledo

All on ESPN3 naturally.

I'm interested to see how Ball State and Kent do on the road.

Balls looked like they struggled with Miami. I turned it off with Fiami leading 62 45. Can't be though. I was told by folks here it will take Coach YEARS to rebuild.

And other folks on here told you Miami is ahead of where Ohio is now. And it's probably somewhere in between.

Anyone on here think if Buffalo keeps up their current pace and finishes with just a handful of losses in conference that their coach may be attractive to P5 suitors?

I'd say if they win the MAC Tourney and make the dance he would have to catch some eyes.

If they manage to win a first round game then definitely will get some looks IMHO.

Conference play is only about 1/3 complete but they seem to be the class of the MAC so far.

I'm not sure he even needs to win the MAC Tournament to catch some eyes. I'd say they're the class of the MAC as well.

Right now in the MAC, Buffalo is 6-0, Toledo is 5-1, and everyone else is 3-3 or 2-4.

Wouldn't bet the house on Buffalo getting a look from the NCAA unless they win the league tourney. Doubt they run the table in the MAC and even if they go 15-3 in the league that is no lock to make the NCAA top 68. The MAC is more than likely a one bid league like always. Unfortunately regular season champ gets nothing more than a handshake.

Agree. So many jobs come open and he’s coming in for sure.

Besides OUr Bobcats tomorrow night, everyone else plays Saturday.

Tomorrow 1/27:

Ball St hosts Zippy at noon on CBSSN.
NIU at WMU
BG vs Toledo rivalry at 7pm from Savage Hall.
EMU at Miami 330pm
Kent at CMU

I'm interested to see how Kent does on the road again, and how that game in Toledo shakes out.

Tonight 2/2:

Western at UB. Wanna make bets on the margin of victory? After losing at Kent, I'm guessing UB wins this one handily.

Tomorrow 2/3:

Noon:
Balls at EMU - How Ball State does at EMU? They've been inconsistent of late.
Toledo at Akron - CBSSN game

3:30
Kent at BG - I'm interested in this one to see which of these two can string together some wins.

4:30
Miami at NIU

I would say I expect Buffalo to show us they are still the best team in the conference, but according to OhioCatFan's logic, there is no best team in the conference until after the tournament is over. The beauty of that logic is there's also no worst team in the conference yet, so that can't hang on us.

If someone operates under the idea that nothing besides the three days in Cleveland matter, then I guess that's true. I'm not one of those people.

I'm impressed with UB as much as anyone, but the game at Kent the other night showed it's still possible to get under the skin of a few of their guys, which has been an issue for them a time or two in the past. I can't see WMU staying within 15 on the road given that UB is coming off that loss. On the other hand, maybe Thomas Wilder continues to be white hot and has another 30-40 point game.

I watched most of the Ohio - Buffalo game on the tube last week and other than some clutch 3's that Buffalo hit at the right times, they didn't seem so unbeatable. In reality, they only made 28% from three even though it seemed like they were shooting it better from long due to the timing of the makes.

Harris scored 17 but it took him 15 shots and 6 free throws to get there.

Perkins off the bench was the difference in the game.**

**Was listed at 6-6/225 in high school (Not bad). Is now 6-8/250

Perkins has developed into a really good player. I didn't get to watch much of it last night. What were the impressions of the game played by WMU and Wilder?

Not sure if this was posted in another thread, but Ball State dismissed Jeremie Tyler recently.

http://www.ballstatedaily.com/article/2018/01/sports-jere...

He scored 13 against us earlier this year and averaging around 7.5 points a game. Ball State is 3-1 since he's been gone.
