I don't care if the Bobcats lose every other game as long as they beat Miami.

+1

Need to win this one. Also, at the end of season in Oxford. My bother-in-law has invited us there for the match in Oxford. If Miami sweeps, it'll be utter embarrassment that he'll never stop talking about.

I'm in +14. Missed homecoming this year, so I haven't made it back to Athens for a while. It's my brother's bachelor party, and most of them are Ohio alumni, so hopefully it'll bring some life to the convo.

As much as we've felt the life being sucked out of the Convo this season, it will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever equal the suck that comes out of Oxford.

Miami University has a long and distinguished tradition of sucking ass. It was established February 2, 1809 as a school that would give hope to those who couldn't get into Ohio University. As they began to find out The people hated the school so bad that it closed in 1873. After they reopened in 1884, they attempted to call themselves a "Public Ivy" when clearly the Harvard on the Hocking has been around for over 200 consecutive years. But I won't get into that. For the last 10 years, Miami has taken great pride in its role as a gutter MAC school in football and basketball that they think money can solve all. But it won't. For if they think they can beat the Mighty Green and White in the Convo, they are sorely mistaken. They say they don't consider us a rival, when in reality it is merely a butt-whoopin' the Men of Ohio have put on them.

This is why Miami has, does, and always will forever suck.

That is all.

Go Bobcats, Muck Fiami.

(Note: If anyone cares to write a better biography of Miami University, please feel free to do so, as I feel this should be a living, breathing document for our profane hatred of Miami)

BtoB: Good history lesson.

I might only add that while, with one notorious exception, OHIO's lads all answered the call to defend the Union, Miami was full of Southern sympathizers and had nearly as many students and graduates don the uniform of secession as enlist in one of the various Ohio Union regiments. In the gubernatorial election of 1863, Butler County cast its ignoble votes for Clement Vallandigham, notorious Peace Democrat (aka Copperhead), rather than OHIO alumnus John Brough, War Democrat, who also had the Republican nomination, and was running on a fusion ticket. Brough won overwhelmingly statewide, and prompted Abraham Lincoln upon learning of the victory to wire Brough: “Glory to God in the Highest. Ohio has saved the Nation.” And, since Brough was an OHIO alumnus, we might add that OHIO had saved the nation. Miami was shameful then and is shameful now. OHIO was glorious then and is glorious now. Case closed. To summarize the case in strictly academic legal terms, "Miami sucks!"

I was excited to hear yesterday that coworker thought a good plan for the coming year was to hire as many MAC graduates as possible and make #MACtion a thing in the office (screen streaming games/highlights/gifs right next to other business intelligence and technical dashboards). Mostly to counter the tOSU influence of any Columbus office environment.

He was wearing a red and gray "MIAMI" sweatshirt, and while I'm all for MACtion taking over...

FIAMI still sucks.

A few years ago they hired a new supervisor at the Home Health Care Agency where my works.

She introduced herself to all the women who work there.

When she was talking to my wife, she asked where she went to college.

My wife said Saint Peters.

She said,I went to Miami of Ohio.
I'm sure you've never heard of it.

Without thinking,my wife blurted out "oh,Mickey Miami".

The woman just looked at her.
My wife said "my husband went to O.U."

At least the woman wasn't my wife's supervisor.

Both times.

Before last Tuesday's game we would've faced Fiami in the first round of the MAC tourney. That would've meant two trips to The Suckhole in four days. That's cruel and unusual punishment. Now, we'd play the #5 seed, which would be WMU at the moment.

Even though the result was bad, I liked the effort we had at Toledo after the first five minutes or so. Mickel provided really good spark off the bench. We need to have that kind of spark from the get-go tomorrow.

oooooooh it was harder than it needed to be. Our lazy passing may be the death of me.

Miami is going to be really good. And I see a lot of promise in our freshmen.

If it wasn't for today's transfer culture, I'd say how much I'm looking forward to the next 3 years of this.

Way to go Bobcats to pull out a win! Nice change in the lineup. Block did well off the bench. Finish the Mac strong!

Looked like those that went got their money's worth. Good college basketball game. Found a way to do it even if it meant doing it the hard way. Some great #OMGDunks!

If Miami were a stock, now's the time to buy. Sibande and Brown are going to be problems.

Definitely on an upswing. Whit and Jack are grabbing Indiana AllStars that IU, Pu and Notre Dame are not recruiting. When he adds in local kids from Ohio and a couple of foreign guys looking for American college experience they are going to get better.

Borna - do you know if Saul has created any presence to rope in any of these Central Indiana Kids? Several of the MU Freshman (as a group) look much more athletic than what I see with our guys.

I was really disappointed to see Cameron Brooks Harris (Zanesville) heading to Marshall. I don't really understand this miss on that one considering we roped in Dartis from the same general area. This will be the second Blue Devil we missed out on that will suite up for the Turd. Travis Young was the other and his brother, Edwin, went off to Dayton.

(Yes - I'm a biased Blue Devil but it's 70 minutes from Athens. Did they close down Route 13 from Athens to Z-ville?).

I agree with this assessment. This was kind of (in a bigger scale way) the reason Thad needed to go at OSU. He wasn't bringing in the top talent in Ohio and was losing. No Kennard. No Bragg. No Esa Ahmad..the list goes on. Saul is missing out on kids he can get that aren't far from him. Instead we get a 7 footer from the South. We get a JC kid. Brooks-Harris would have been a good get.

Well that was fun! Got to enjoy some pregame libations and conversation with SBH, cc cat, and bobcatsquared and their friends from the original Crazy Cats. We currently have a long way to go to return to the days of that sort of student excitement and in-game enthusiasm.

Gritty performance in OT. After going down 4 right off the bat it would have been very easy to fold the tent. Gallon continues to get better and played well the whole game. Win the last four and there's a chance for a home game.

Do you think three out of four might get us a home game at 7-11? We killed oorselves with all the close losses, blowing leads .

That could possibly get us the 8th seed but that's the only chance at 7 and 11.

The Crazy Cats missed you at the game yesterday unless you've aged a bit, lost some hair and put on some weight. :)

Had to laugh at the comment on 13. My wife is from Redtown up on the ridge. She was yelling me 13 was closed at Chauncey according to her FB friends. Says if anyone coming from there they would have to go out on those "roads you always get lost on". Woman is making fun of me. She can get all over SEO with a right at Sunday creek and a left at possum run but can't figure out how to get around in Indiana where the entire state is laid out like a sheet of graph paper.
